I love those Guys!!! They're still the best! :thumbsup

Phoenix 05-04-2006 01:10 PM

they will still sell millions of records..and if they tour they will sellout every show

E Guru 05-04-2006 01:43 PM

poor baby now he's going to make 5million instaid of 7

JerseyPuma 05-04-2006 01:44 PM

If the record is coming out in a week odds are it has already had its final mastering and the stuff you are downloading will be, as far as your human ear can detect, exactly the same as the CD (given that the person who stole it did indeed steal a final version). He's pissed about the money, plain and simple. I am lukewarm about the Chili Peppers to be honest, but I'm gonna grab a torrent now just to spite this whiny bitch.

RhiannonAPM 05-04-2006 01:48 PM

Red Hot Chili Peppers ROCK!!! :thumbsup

Sosa 05-04-2006 01:49 PM

Can't stand them for the most part.

chaze 05-04-2006 01:53 PM

Love the chilis but that was pethetic. :disgust

Grapesoda 05-04-2006 02:18 PM

flea is a very, very cool, level headed guy in every respect . . . top notch . . . BTW don't care for the music at all . .

tony286 05-04-2006 03:12 PM

UPDATE!

The sound quality of the album I just downloaded is perfectly fine. The music quality so far, however, is not.

Shok 05-04-2006 03:29 PM

This thread took awhile to load.
My connection must be slowed down from the illegal downloading of the stolen Chili Pepper's cd.

He's right, it sounds like shit!
But I don't think it's the sound quality that is the problem

TheJimmy 05-04-2006 04:51 PM

I love some old Chili Pepper tunes...saw them opening for Oingo Boingo at Universal back in the 80s...put on a rocking ass show...

That being said, I think this whole file sharing thing versus the entertainment biz will need to come to some type of resolution in the next few years.

I read an interesting article on wired with some words from Soderbergh to the same effect about Hollywood needing to change it's business model.

Damn thats a flashback... I wanted to go to that show but was grounded at the time and had to sell my ticket... I had friends who went and talked about the "new" band that opened for Boingo...

Dirty F 05-04-2006 05:12 PM

Stealing is wrong, ok, but what a bs that he's so concerned about the sound quality.

what does that have to do with anything? They worked for it and got ripped off plain and simple. I am sure you would feel the same way if you had done the work and they ripped you off.:2 cents:

But they put 2 years of their tiny wittle hearts into it for your pleasure.

:winkwink:

Screaming 05-04-2006 05:32 PM

he should go kick it with lars by the pool. they could stream tears in there exotic drinks, as they bitch about fans wanting to listen to them.

It was one of the best performances I've seen, the opening act that is. Oingo was fine too, but I enjoyed the Peppers more that night.

Nina Hagen came out and did a song with them. Amazing...

But what really tripped me out was that the audience was being a bunch of asshats. They were booing them off as they wanted Oingo on stage. It got so bad that Elfman had to come out and tell the audience to shut the fuck up and that they were good friends with the Peppers and to give them a chance...

Total flashback.

:thumbsup

jjjay 05-04-2006 05:44 PM

why do all their song titles have 'cali' somewhere in them?

I'm sure the few hundred thousand downloads really won't hurt them that much. All artists go through it sometimes.Just the way he worded the statement didn't seem sincere

Drake 05-04-2006 07:38 PM

Give-it-away, give-it-away, give-it-away now

Wow, that was a classic moment.

Poppy 05-04-2006 08:08 PM

RHCP rock! Can't wait for this to come out.

candyflip 05-04-2006 08:53 PM

Is John still clean these days? When he was down and out he used to sell me guitars when I was with Hard Rock. He's the only person I ever felt bad for buying his stuff. He even sold he favorite guitar, the one from the Under The Bridge video.

L-Pink 05-04-2006 08:56 PM

For those critical of his Journal entry, you have my sympathy.

It must be terrible going thru life never having an origional idea. Never feeling the satisfaction from creating a song, photograph, novel, patent, movie, etc.

Yes the money part matters ...... But seeing your hard work and dedication stolen ..... that makes it personal, that makes it hurt.

The excuse of personal use and not profiting from stolen products is BULLSHIT ... If you enjoyed a movie, photo, song, you received benefit from someone else's sweat. What do they get from you in return.

I've been listening to Nine Inch Nails as I type this, Fact is I've listened to this music for years. How nice this was recorded for my use ... NOT being an asshole maybe I should do something nice for them in return ...?...
Mow Trent Resnor's yard, or wash his car, or send him a case of beer ....

Nah ... I paid twenty bucks for the cd ... fuck em we're even .....

If you're not a thief, you're a moocher .... nice choice ...
