I'm not a 12 year old boy.

I don't live in Florida. Just waiting for property values to fall in the keys. Figure the next hurricane season should do it.

Considering a concealed carry license. FL has the most reciprocal agreements with other states.

pussyluver 05-03-2006 08:50 PM

Population is falling in the Keys too. Don't know if it is the cost of living or the storms or both??? It was getting over crowed anyway. All those condos take away from the old Key West charm though :(

I believe there is a new law that passed that allows you to shoot someone IF YOU FEEL THREATENED.

I believe that if you see someone reaching into his coat pocket when you are having an argument with him, and you believe him reaching for a gun, you are actually allowed to reach for your gun and shoot him.

I couldn't believe it either

I live in Florida, and share those 2 points of view to the letter!

OldSchoolJim 05-03-2006 09:01 PM

I believe you ARE allowed to shoot someone if they are breaking into your property....just be sure they don't fall back out the window...

Yes

authorizes person to use force, including deadly force, against intruder or attacker in dwelling, residence, or vehicle under specified circumstances; provides that person is justified in using deadly force under certain circumstances; provides immunity from criminal prosecution or civil action for using deadly force; defines term "criminal prosecution", etc.

pussyluver 05-03-2006 09:14 PM

With all the opinions here there is a big message!

Take the concealed weapons course before you buy the gun. That is whether you intend on carrying or not. They teach the rules at least in your state.

In Kentucky the fact that someone is in your house, or breaking into your house, armed or unarmed without your consent, is reason enough to open fire in self defense.

Florida also has one of the most fucked up justice systems.

KRL 05-03-2006 10:34 PM

Got to watchout. Florida rednecks go tactical with their home defense guns.

i live in kentucky, and last i checked (couple years ago) that was completely untrue.

you're supposed to try to flee (your own fucking home), announce that you have a gun (and lose any element of surprise you may have), and fire a warning shot (and fuck up your ceiling/anyone living above you).

if, after you've done all that, the intruder is still in your home and advancing on you, you're allowed to shoot him. you must, however, attempt to wound him first.

personally, if someone comes in my house....id shoot them in the head, then the knee. then id fire a shot into the ceiling and yell "IVE GOT A GUN!"

Lebron James 05-04-2006 12:25 AM

What about them damn hurricanes?

Florida is one of the worst places to live in the states...not a bad place to visit, but I would never live there.

I believe they changed the law early last year. It was in the news quite a bit for awhile because someone was hurt/killed because they tried to flee beforehand or something. It was a big hub-bub, and was a joke in the late night shows for a spell.
