Deadliest Catch.

Ok I was watching this last night and it dawned on me. Discovery has now created the deadliest job above and beyond a crab fishermen. Think about it, what could be worse than being the camera man on a crab fishing boat? Less reward equal risk.

Hmm, I dont think it's equal risk, but yeah, definitely less reward.

Ok you aint hanging over side of boat ussually. Same risk with waves though, they also climb up on the pots and shit, can be hit by same crap on deck and oh yeah they are holding onto a big ass camera while they do it which means more time to get into the oh shit the boat is going down uniform.

hahaha never thought of that very true great show...

crockett 05-03-2006 05:31 PM

I think they lost two camera men during last years season when that one boat sank.

madawgz 05-03-2006 05:51 PM

what are you talking about, there is no risk

I thought for sure that boat was toast and that black dude of made them take him back cause he was to scared had some psychic tingle. Though I am glad he was not on the boat, I am sure he would of screamed like a schoolgirl and jumped off the boat.

I watched those episodes of last season and they didn't mention this at all. Surely Discovery Channel would have paid tribute to them if this were true.

vod 05-03-2006 06:50 PM

Alot of people watch that show...

I saw the crew's check's on tv. $800,000 The North Western brought in last night and each crew member got $58,000. for a couple days work ;

Gotta love the affirmative action guy who just happened to be "hired off the docks" by one of the captains. He cried like a baby and said he was going to jump off the boat.

FYI - those crab boat captains don't hire new people off the docks. I am sure he was there because the producers wanted some "diversity". The only shot that guy had in real life was to be hired by one of the processing boats.
