anyone know anything about PDF files?
 

hi,

i have a 5 page pdf file that's like 18mb and i need it smaller so it can be emailed. anyone know of a tool or how the hell to do it in acrobat?

Nope but I would just upload it and email the dl link.

Perhaps you could just convert it to .html ?

try zipping it

usually you determine the size of a PDF when you create it - depending on what you need: screen resolution, print resolution or whatever. 18 mb for 5 pages has to be print resolution with heavy pics, otherwise someone was not very intelligent when creating the PDF :winkwink:

Whats in it, text or pictures or what? Do you have the word file or whatever it was before it was a PDF and do you have Adobe?

its all graphics graphics with the text in the graphics. 5, 8.5 x 11 inch pages. They are 300dpi psd's that created the pdf.

If you are using them for print, keep them at 300DPI. If not for print kick down to 72 DPI, and you will see a dramatic difference.

Need both an email and print version, email out the smaller file, with a link to the bigger file.
