looks like a good idea if you get sick of checking stats though:winkwink:

boneprone 05-13-2002 11:07 PM

looks cool actually.
I already noticed the banner on the top of GFY and checked em out before your spam.

Look cool

mGreg 05-13-2002 11:25 PM

hey cool.. thanks :)

Rod 05-13-2002 11:49 PM

Yea, it seems cool.
But since I am not a stats-addicted guy, I don't see the point of paying 30$/month for that :thumbsup

If it would be a 1 time price, I would probably buy it tought.

lurking without posting? creepy.. im being watched!

ElvisManson 05-14-2002 02:02 PM

We were invloved testing stats remote early on to check it's compatibility with our affiliate programs and with using it to check the stats for the traffic that we send to other affilate programs and i can say that Python gives Stats Remote 2 thumbs up!

:2 cents:

LoveAsianChicks 05-14-2002 02:04 PM

Sorry but $30 a month is pricy!!!!
I guess it depends how many sponsors you have.

Many browsers can remember passwords so it takes no time at all to check stats.
Perhaps if you have TONS to check it could save a bit of time.

I'm sure some people don't like the idea their usernames/passwords are being stored by the third party.

Here is a previous thread where people talk about not trusting anyone with your usernames and passwords:

MikeyBoy 05-14-2002 02:19 PM

the program is cool
ive just bought a 3 day trial

but cant get it to work with Jettis :(

J B 05-14-2002 02:26 PM

Brent - Thanks :-)
BTW PythonPays will be in the next update as well...

Aaron - Yep, pretty amazing... I though that would be the first thing I see ;-)

LoveAsianChicks / Mr.Fiction - We do not store your usernames and passwords, they are stored encrypted on your hard drive only. We don't have access to any of your personal data at any time.

MikeyBoy - Jettis is still a problem. They have quite a few different stats areas. We're working on it.

EXACTLY .its what i thought when i checked them out

TheFLY 05-14-2002 03:04 PM

Fuck $30/month just to check stats? I'd rather use a macro program...

Anyway they should have made it advertising based -- I can imagine 99% of adult webmasters would use it if it was free -- and they would probably spend all damn day looking at it -- i'd imagine it could be quite a portal... you could add features that would allow a webmaster to add his personal info (like mailing address, SS#, etc...) -- click a button and bam you have joined 100 adult affiliate programs and all your link codes just pop up on the screen! That would be sweet! Imagine the power this would give -- to automatically pull in so many affiliates -- you're just shooting yourself in the foot by not making this free -- somebody like Lensman will out-code you and put you out of biz....

Think of the valuable data that you could collect too -- of course privacy would be very important but I'm still you could collect some interesting indicators w/o invading too much privacy...

One thing regarding the monthly fee:

Maintaining this software is very time consuming. A monthly fee is the only way to provide a quality product in the long run. We need to add programs all the time and some of the programs that are already included change their stats area quite often (you know who you are ;-)

Hmm, if it had a tool that would allow me to sign up for every program in your database and spit out URL's to send traffic to -- I'd give it a shot... I could just take that list of URL's and paste it into a banner farm and watch it go... And a feature to let me change my email address and mailing address w/ every program -- those things would be really valuable... There's definitely big potential...

True, there are a lot of features we can add.

But it would be really risky if you changed your email address or mailing address with every program through a software. What if a few programs change their admin area and you submit the wrong info?

Right now the software 'only' checks stats. If a program changes the stats area StatsRemote might not be able to display the correct numbers anymore, but that's all. We fix it, you get the update and everything is fine.

Pornwolf 05-14-2002 05:37 PM

I'm sure you have researched your product JB but The Fly has a major point. If you made it free and advertising based you would have EVERY webmaster on board. I would imagine the ad rates would be incredible.

Also, I think now that that Idea is out of the bag you will have competition coming very soon that will do exactly that. You have all the attention right now, it's not to late to switch up the revenue method without going through too much hassle.

Hey we hadn't changed our shit in years!!! ;)))

Our programmers had an initial look at the software when it was in development, and found it to be quite a good setup. It should be working within our system quite well shortly I'd figure also.

As for it being $30 bucks versus free? You guys get enough free shit as it is. 30 bucks a month isn't going to kill you, and if it gives you enough time to make more money, then I'd stop bitching and start building.

I hear what you're saying. You're right, there might be competition coming soon, but I know that many other people had the same idea before but didn't do it due to various reasons. We'll see how it goes :-)

Your personal login details and numbers are stored encrypted on your hard drive. We do not have access to your data at any time. You can verify this with a network monitor to check what data is actually sent where.

If you are NOT using Stats Remote and you make at least $300 a month, you are an idiot...

Why? Because you are logging into each sponsor separately and wasting a lot of time you should be spending on other tasks.

Think about it... Time is money and although your time isn't worth shit at this point you need to pretend it is. Other wise your time will always be worth less than $1 an hour.

You have to pay to play in business if you want to succeed. Now you will know where your hits are at a glance... you can strategize better. You can see when sales come in without obsessively checking at each sponsor wasting a lot of time.

I got SR back when I was making about $170 a month... Guess what, I started making a lot more money because SR allowed me to see the big picture. Now I make over $10K a month... I won't say to how much over but lets say I make over $100 an hour... I don't think I could have done it without SR.

BTW.. SR costs approx. 17 cents per hour to use. Based on a 40 hour work week. So less than 1% of my income pays for 25% of my needed information. That is a fucking awesome ROI!
