That wasn't an earthquake, it was the rumbling of all the people in San Diego getting the fuck out because dipshit is coming.

I was driving home listening to a live city council meeting in Palo Alto.. a bunch of ho-hum dull types talking about zoning laws.. then all of sudden.. some guy yells..

"Get out of the building... we having a fucking earthquake.. get out.. get out!!!"

Then some other dude gets on the mic and says "ladies and gentleman.. we are having a massive earthquake.. get out of your house!"

I shit my pants! Called my wife.. she was crying and freaking out. Jesus that was a long shaker!!

yeap...5.2 quake centered up north

5.2-4 miles deep (being that close to the surface is the reason for the heavy shock) and centered around Gilroy, probably the San Andreas fault acting up.

heard it was centered in Gilroy, so nothing of value to be lost there.

Funny thing is, last night I dreamt about a big one coming, and I have never dreamed of an earthquake before

yep.... it was the San Andreas.....

was just a pussyhair southwest of Gilroy.... the Walmart's sprinkler systems went off and the whole store got water damaged..... and there were some busted windows and shit around town.... (according to the mayor) but nothin' major.

The interesting thing though is that they say this could very well have still been yet another FOREshock...... meaning the big 8.0 rent-dropper is still comin'....... :Graucho

We ain't talking about no "tsunami" with this. When the entire west coast of N america plunges into the ocean, I should think the resulting wall of water (maybe more than one) would be incredible. Much more than a few small islands could handle.

I felt a tiny earthquake when I was down in Acapulco last time. It lasted for about 20 seconds and moved the bed out 2 feet from the wall, and my room-mate freaked out bad. We never get earthquakes in Winnipeg. All we know here are winter and mosquitos.

Well, that's old-school thinking.... they don't actually believe that Cali would drop into the sea anymore..... more likely than not, it would simply crack and separate, gradually drifting out and becoming it's own island.... but yeah, there'd be a new coastline for certain.
