What's Successful

What's successful in this biz?

It seems like there's really no limit to how much $$$ you can make, and there are tons of millionaires. But does that make the guy making 80k a year not a success?

Who / what do you consider successful?

madawgz 05-01-2006 03:40 PM

success would be making 1000$/day or more :)

anything above that is icing

xclusive 05-01-2006 03:40 PM

Meeting your goals wether they be 80k or 5 mil is what makes you a success it's not dependent on other people it's your own goals.

princess 05-01-2006 03:41 PM

I think Success is measured by each person's own personal goals. 80k can be just as successful as a million.

Geeezer 05-01-2006 03:45 PM

Earning a weekly wage without having to be in work on time, working when you want and not when you are told to work, just working for yourself.

Those things can mean you are successful because you have succeeded and being your own boss. It's not all about the money :winkwink:

WiredGuy 05-01-2006 03:45 PM

Success is relative to each person. For some, $50k a year is great. For others it can be much less or much higher. Its all relative to your current situation.

WWC-Pajio 05-01-2006 03:47 PM

...success is making money$$$ all the way home... :smokin

Drake 05-01-2006 03:49 PM

According to oil companies, success is inflating gas prices to keep profits at all time highs each year.

Using that as the template, success in this biz would translate into overcharging surfers and doubling your income every year.

Keep up the good work.

davethetruth 05-01-2006 03:51 PM

I also think that consistancy can be a major factor in considering someone (or yourself) a success.

One could consider themselves a success one day, then the shit could hit the fan and they might have to work back up to that once found success.

Damn straight, I second that.

CuriousToyBoy 05-01-2006 05:27 PM

I love my life.

That, by definition makes me successful.

TO ME

And that is ALL that counts.

I've been thinking that in my mind at least, just being an earner, isn't being successful, not when there's so much money out there and millionaires in every sector.

"Success" is an illusion which fools smart business people into thinking they cant lose.

jimthefiend 05-02-2006 11:06 AM

Being able to do it for a LIVING, no matter the actual $$ amount.

Sosa 05-02-2006 11:10 AM

If you are happy in the biz, making money that makes you feel good then I would feel you are successful. Totally different for each person though.

Very true.

Success is doing something you like and making enough doing it to live comfortably in your desired lifestyle.

I personally would not trade my occupation with one I did not enjoy doing even if it made me twice as much per year.

sex69 05-02-2006 11:18 AM

I like my job, my family and my life and this makes me successful

davethetruth 05-02-2006 12:40 PM

I don't equate happiness with success, especially in this industry. I know a handfull of people that are successful, and no one could argue this, but they are far from being happy.

What he said. After your basic needs are met, success is not measured in money but by happiness. That happiness comes from relationships with friends, family and the fun had by all.

Sure it's nice to be rich but would you rather be rich or happy? That's the question to ask.
