I was in a hamburger contest today
 

I ate 3 pounds of raw hamburger in 26 minutes.

Is that bad? In some countries thats considered normal.

3 pounds of raw meat? uncooked? holy fuk - why?

If I was using a fresh boneless roast I had just bought from a butcher, and if I knew and trusted that butcher to keep his machinery like sterile environment spotless,.... and if I even liked the idea of eating raw hamburger (which I dont)..... then, and ONLY THEN would I consider eating it.

If it was from a storebought package of ground beef no way in hell would I chance it. Good way to get E coli for one thing.

Even then, you're still at the mercy of the rancher's principles who grazed the cow. A major cause of e-coli is a substandard environment and food.
