Any hater still question "The Great Kobe"

haters step aside, what a shot, what a win, what a jumpall!

Screaming 04-30-2006 03:46 PM

Hes on time for sure.

As much as Kobe did, you cant underestimate any other player.
Odom, Walton, George, Parker (especially Paker) did a tremendous amount.

Yeah they all played well, especially Odom and Smush at the end.

Kobe has 3 championships... How many times has Nash been to the Finals or even WCF? 7th seed shouldn't beat a 2nd seed. Yeah, he is a bit cocky, but I think you have to have that kind of attitude to be like Kobe and MJ... If the Lakers were 2nd seed, Kobe would win MVP hands down, but's that's a reflection of the whole team, not an individual, like it's supposed to be. So Nash's MVP's are B.S. IMO. Sure he's a great player and fun to watch, but he's no Kobe. He's all offense....

keep on hating!

Mr. Mojo Risin 04-30-2006 03:59 PM

I hate it when voters say Kobe is the best player in the league, but I'm not voting for a player in the 7th seed....

How many championships does Kobe have from years he was the best player on his team? Hmm?? Yeah. Shaq is so god damn good people used to think Penny Hardway was one of the 10 best players in the NBA.

If MJ is/was remotely near as cocky as Kobe he hid it much better.

BoyAlley 04-30-2006 04:00 PM

You can tell Kobe is great after his performance this year. He no longer has Shaq, yet he's got the scoring title, broke a bunch of Laker records, he's shown that he can play unselfish this series and they made the playoffs and will beat the 2nd seed and probably make it to the WCF. What makes it remarkable is the level of talent Kobe has vs. the level of talent Nash has, like another MVP candidate and more.... He has the total game, both offense and defense and clutch too. WTF more does this guy have to do to get a MVP. My god...

I am impressed that unlike most Kobe lovers you didn't claim he was better than Shaq during their 3peat. Enjoy your day and congrats.

I'm a big Suns/Nash fan, but I'll admit that he probably shouldn't win the MVP if indeed he did. However, using the "he's all offense" line to compare the two is laughable, thats actually what most say about Kobe. If Kobe had played all year with the desire to get his teammates involved like he is in this series they would have won 50+ games and the mvp wouldn't have been a question.

I think Kobe is a phenomenal player, but after watching him all year and this series I'm starting to lose the respect I had for him, he whines on absolutely every call. Even on plays where there is no contact whatsoever, he still has to run down the court staring the ref down as if he should have gotten a call. MJ used to do his lobbying, but Kobe is in a whole different stratosphere. So I'm officially naming Kobe, MVW, most valuable whiner.

It is true though. Nash can't play D. Only thing that he can do better than Kobe is assist and shoot free throws(a little better). I would rather take a great overall player with clutch. I like Nash though. I used to like watching Dallas when Nash was there, now I don't like to watch Dallas at all. He's a great offensive player and fun to watch. He's a step down from Kobe though IMO. I like AI too, but like Nash he is mainly just offense. I agree about the whining though, I wish he wouldn't do that(too many T's this year), but he is just too competitive to shut up.

Lol, since when is Kobe a defensive gem? According to the season defensive stats index ( opposing players field goal%), Kobe is the 6th worst at his repsective position while Nash is 8th best at his. Kobe could be a decent defender if he would just put forth the effort, obviously the athletic ability is there. Nash also shot 51% on the year, while Kobe was down at 45%. In fact Kobe has never shot over 47% in any year and is a career 43% in the playoffs. Again, I have no problem saying that Nash probably shouldn't have been the MVP and what Kobe did was spectacular this year, but if you are going to compare them don't make Kobe out to be something he isn't.

Todays outcome was due to bad calls...............

Man, that game was fucking awesome. I'm in LA right now I swear I could hear neighbors all around me shouting and screaming. Not only did he save the game, but he won it in overtime. 8 seconds left. Thats skill.

5-time All-Defensive:

Nash has never been on All Defense Team

His three point shot attempts lowered his shooting average.

That's what all Suns fans are saying. Truth is they replayed that on TNT and both Kenny and Charles(Lakers and Kobe haters) said it was the right call. Nash himself said he didn't call timeout. There have been a lot of bad calls throughout the series. I could argue that The Suns were helped to win by no calls in game 1(Kobe had a lump on his forehead) and all the no calls on Raja Bell(dirty defender like Bowen).

Mr. Mojo Risin 04-30-2006 07:16 PM

I guess you either love him or hate him, like he says.... If you are a Lakers fan you love him. If you are a fan of a rival team, you hate him because he's too good.... I'm a Lakers fan, but I admire all players with talent. Give the man some respect. You don't have to like him personally. I really don't, but he's fun to watch and a great player.

Too bad he didn't play it this year. Kobe only shoots 35% from 3 point range, while Nash shoots 44%. Even in this series, they are both averaging 22/game, but Nash is shooting 49% while Kobe is at 40%. Hopefully these playoffs will finally show Kobe that if he truly plays with the intent of involving the whole team like he has, the Lakers can be much more successful.

You must have been asleep during the series. I'll admit that he takes a lot of bad shots and these contribute to his lower percentage. Especially the three point shot attempts. His shots have not been going down this series. That happens. Did Nash score 81 points or 62 points in 3 quarters(more than the whole Dallas team)?

Take a list of Kobe's achievements and Nash's achievements and then try to compare them.

MVP is a joke.... It's MVP on one of the top teams, instead of MVP of the whole league.

Did you even bother to read my post? I conceded that Nash shouldn't have been MVP, but you are still pumping Kobe, why? Today's game was the only game I wasn't at. I'll be at the game in Phx on Tues and then back to LA for game six, I can assure you I'm not sleeping at the games.
