Will this backfire and unite REAL American Citizens against forigners demanding how we run our country?

Or will their plans to clog up streets with protesters, make Americans late for work, and hurt public schools actually help them make the point that they want to be a part of this country?

I think legislation needs to be passed that says children born in the US to illegal immigrants are illegal themselves. Then if the parents can become legal, their minor children do also.

Of corse not every protester is illegal. Why the fuck would anyone think that every single protester is illegal? Obviously there are some (a minority) of citizens who agree with them.

Uhhh well i'm half mexican, my grandparents immigrated here legally, and they speak fluent english.

So, when I say "illegals", I mean ILLEGALS, no need to twist my words.

What are your grandparents thoughts on the issue?

My grandpa is dead but my Grandma is offended that she worked so hard to pass her citizenship test and learn english that these illegals have the nerve to come here, dont even apply for citizenship and dont try to learn the language.

I personally never had to learn any spanish because my entire family spoke fluent english before I was even born, every single one whos first language was Spanish learned english.

They also openly admit they came here because Mexico sucks, they have no 'pride' in their home country, they left it for a reason, now theyre Americans.

I admire them for working so hard to assimilate but at the same time I think it's kind of sad they don't have any pride in their native country and have abandoned the culture. It's a rich culture they should take pride in. My grandmother was born in Texas to Mexican parents and she's the same way.

and for the record...I voted YES in the poll. I think the protests in some cities (esp. L.A.) have taken on an ugly tone that can only hurt the cause of immigration reform.

because he lost his job in between and had to do the entire process again, he is a mechanical engineer.

he did it legit and got fucked, it was the happiest day of his life when 8 years down he got his perminent residency, now he is only 4 years away from getting his citizenship.

i will definatley fly down and be there the day it happens for him.

i respect America alot, although my dad had to go through years of tough times (just wanting to work) Americans have always treated him well no matter where he goes.

this is why this mexicans piss me off, they are not deserving of a citizenship, they need to pack up and re start the legal way.

My father is an American citizen raised in Edmonton. He never went through any resident or citizenship process to be in Canada. I guess he was an illegal. :upsidedow

I see it all of the time up here in the NW. On days when it is 100+ degrees and I am bitching because my AC in my car isn't cold enough and there are people out working in the fields wearing jeans, sleeved shirts and hats for pennies so we can save money in the produce dept. at the grocery store. A lot of the migrant workers out there are not legal.

This problem isn't as simple as many of the people would like to think it is. :helpme

I don't have a problem with it. However, if it fucks up my work day tomorrow I'll be pissed as shit. Some of us have jobs, families, and lives to get to. I will be pissed to all hell if this costs me a few hours tomorrow.

I can remember growing up and walking by new construction houses being built. It was all long haired, young white males, building the houses. Shit, both my brothers did it.

Now try and find a white guy, it's all fucking illegals. I hate to be racist and shit, because I am very liberal, but the argument that they do jobs that other people won't, is bullshit.

I worked on a produce farm every summer going thru high school. I fucking loved it. Great pay for a teen, and you were done by noon. Now it's all mexicans.

The other bullshit thing is saying they pay taxes. Sales tax? That doesn't amount to shit. It sure as hell doesn't pay for the 5 kids they have in my kids school, who now make my kids sit and wait so little Juan can learn to speak the english language.

I thought you had to be a citizen to protest in a country. How about a bunch of us go over to Germany and protest that they don't speak english, and say we want to be citizens. It's fucking ridiculous.

I agree, and the official stastics from the pro-immigration groups say things like "%28 of dishwashers are illegal immigrants" and "%24 of fruit pickers are illegal immigrants".

Well... doesnt that still mean the VAST MAJORITY of people doing those jobs are legal? Are you telling me you cant find enough people who need a job to replace only %24 of dishwashers?
