Tampa is TOAST

Woohoo!

Sens just squeaked by them for the series win 3-2.

The defending Stanley Cup champions are out.

Nicely done Ottawa. :D

GatorB 04-29-2006 07:47 PM

Well at least we won it. Maybe Ottawa, will maybe not. Came in the league in the same year as Ottawa and won the Cup FIRST. 3 more rounds for them until they get one of there own. It isn't as easy as you think. Can't win it every year.

Spunky 04-29-2006 07:53 PM

Bertuzzi for prime minister

LittleMack 04-29-2006 07:54 PM

sucks, but they sucked this year

Spunky 04-29-2006 07:55 PM

Looks like Detoilet is going to be next

Vitasoy 04-29-2006 08:43 PM

Caught the game. Burke really kept them in the game, but tampa couldn't get it done

CDSmith 04-29-2006 08:46 PM

Calgary is cooking with gas tonight too.

Nice 3-0 lead right now. Sweet.

most of the game has been uneven -- ducks dont seem to be into it.

nicely done ottawa you say? that team is undeciplened and inconsistant. they have no chance at getting past NJ, Habs, or NC

the oilers and dallas have what it takes.. i dont see any team from the eastern division as worthy of making the cup. however, one team will get there of course.

Of course they have a chance. Slim or not, a chance is a chance.

And a win is a win. I'm not gloating, I'm not even a Sens fan... but in the game I saw them in today they looked tight. If they can maintain that level of play they very much do have a chance.

After this elimination round every team that is still in it has a "chance", don't kid yourself.

TheSpreader 04-29-2006 09:33 PM

Tampa's goal tending and defense has been suspect all year. Even if they were able to squeak past the Sens, they wouldn't have gotten much further.

Burke did do everything he could to keep Tampa in it. I'm thinking that the Devils are going to take it all this year.

You may be right there. The Devs do look good this year. My dad think's they're the team to beat as well, and he has watched much more hockey this season than I have.

Flames are my team of choice though. Two years ago everyone cocked off at their success in making it to the final series, said it was a "fluke" and on pure luck etc. I say all that is so much ballwash.

They are on a mission to prove all those idiot naysayers wrong.

And they were idiot naysayers. No team that makes it all the way to the cup series is "lucky". Anyone who thought that back then is nuts and hasn't played hockey in any meaningful form.

Come Monday night Anaheim could be toast too.

:D

that likely will occur

playing a team as shitty as NYR were in this series anyone would have a chance lol i dont think NJ had to play very hard to win.. so i am looking forward to them pairing with a strong team so i can see more of this NJ action.. cause to me it seemed like they had it easy in their sweep of NYR (not saying anything bad about NJ, just that NYR looked like crap lol)

i have not watched the habs/nc series but have heard it's a lot of fun!

i really think the stars are a quality team but down 3 games is tough to come out of

lastly, the impressive things about the bflo/philly series is bflo playing like amateur hockey players coming face to face with a real team lol it's impressive they have come this far and that they are holding their own! on the other side forestburg is an excellent, top of the line smart player and him alone is able to rally a team from behind to win. he has the 2nd most playoff points so far. he is impressive to watch and philly wouldn't be where they are if it wern't for him

Sens just have wayy too much skill

JohanTheGreat 04-29-2006 11:35 PM

A large one.

Otherwise your confidence in your opinion is quite wasted. :D

I was at the Ottawa game last night. Awesome game. Yes Sean Burke played great for Tampa but overall Ottawa was too good for them this time around.

Who's next I wonder. Montreal if they beat Carolina but I don't see that happening now. Otherwise Ottawa plays the winner of Buffalo/Philly.
