http://today.reuters.com/news/articl...UGS.xml&rpc=22

Mexico is gonna whip us silly and not have to fire one fucking shot!

If they legalize pot and cocaine half the U.S. will pile in over the border and flood that country with BILLIONS of dollars.

MrIzzz 04-28-2006 01:37 PM

i dont see the problem, this way mexico can get all of our pothead and crackhead degenerates to move there illegally while we keep their hardest working illegals here:thumbsup

i smoke a lot of weed also, but 5 grams is 1/8 and a half. that's the perfect amount to stuff in your pocket for the day. not too bad.

the fucked up thing is, you're allowed to carry heroin, coke and xtc at the same time.

it's bad enough as it is with all of so cal's teenagers going across the border for pills... now coke, x and heroin?? fuck.

Announcement: BVF is a brilliant Mo Fo!

THAT is EXACTLY what someone brilliant would do IF you as an American were allowed to own land in Mexico.

Having a safe place to crash and party in Mexico after they pass this law is like building your house out of fucking gold.

Mexico will become the party place for half the fucking planet and soon as people see how much money they're making they'll decriminalize too. That's the problem. It's whoever decriminalizes AND provides a safe place for partying, shopping and relaxing. Any of the sunny central American countries that does this will make more money than Bruce Wayne just from travel fairs and fees ALONE. Add to that sports equipment, food, lodging, .... All they would need then is a big ass cartoon character like Moobie Cow and they would turn that country into a combination theme park and the family room.

Nuff fucking said.

candyflip 04-28-2006 05:24 PM

Decriminalization and legalization are two different things. I can get busted here (in NY) with 7/8 of an oz. and get a ticket that would amount to a traffic violation.

$5 submissions 04-28-2006 05:29 PM

Its legal to POSSESS (in small amounts). That's all that law says. Far cry from full LEGALIZATION.

pr0 04-28-2006 05:35 PM

mexican coffee shops here we come!

now we don't even need to fly accross the pond :)

s9ann0 04-28-2006 05:52 PM

Yes we know, we can read.

Mexico isn't the bastiene of law enforcement lemme tell you. The only reason they have laws is to justify the high bribe rate and avoid their own taxes.

Get real. Decriminalization in Mexico is the same as 'fuck it, do it' in the U.S.

They have to gradiently do this to make sure they still get their dope dealer money and bribes and increase the foreign tourism. They'll have to open a new airport and highway for all the Americans who'll be piling in there because Nicaragua and Belize are getting all the fat Gringo retirees.

BoNgHiTtA 04-28-2006 06:03 PM

So im gonna be in Los Cabos here in June. You think I can score some by then? That would ROCK!!

KCat 04-28-2006 06:26 PM

Don't forget to clean out your pockets before you hop on a plane back home!

Spunky 04-28-2006 06:31 PM

The new Amsterdam

Aquarius 04-28-2006 06:35 PM

I live in Mexico! This will be interesting.

BVF 04-28-2006 06:36 PM

a whole LOT of people in Latin America use cocaine...And the way I see it, if you use cocaine you're alright but if you smoke marijuana, they think you're crazy.

Aquarius 04-28-2006 06:39 PM

ok, this is the perfect time to open a club at the border.

Greg B 04-28-2006 07:21 PM

Mexico is only doing this proclamation about decriminalizing because they're in a fight with the U.S. over illegal immigration which is sending Mexico billions of $$ a year. Stop illegal immigration and it'll be a collapse of their economy. They need to make up that $9 billion a year loss. That's above the table not mentioning what they're making on the illegal end.

It's all about crime and that's that.

Herb Kornfield 04-28-2006 07:30 PM

What was the Question again..... Im kinda ....... tired ;)

Martin3 04-28-2006 07:45 PM

Mexican cops will hate this. No more bribes to keep the busted spring breakers out of jail.:1orglaugh

stev0 04-28-2006 08:01 PM

Good for Mexico... there will be more freedom there than in the US ;)

Here they usually just take it and send us on our way... i think that's the way it should be. If you doing drugs in public and causing problems, that's one thing. But if you do them in the privacy of your own home or are just carrying a joint in your pocket then that's no ones business but yours.

pornguy 04-28-2006 08:15 PM

" THAT is EXACTLY what someone brilliant would do IF you as an American were allowed to own land in Mexico. "

this statment is not exactly true. You as an american CAN own land in mexico. 90 miles away from the ocean, and 60 miles from the border. Or,you can just buy land through a bank trust. 3k to set it up and 300$ a year. Trust if 50 years, and can be renewed. You can sell the house, and land, you can will it to a family member.

I have property in mexico, but though a differnet way.

BIGTYMER 04-28-2006 08:40 PM

Weee! I'm an hour from the border.. But I can get anything I need here anyway.

If you read into Mexico's proposal to decriminalize - it makes total sense and is along the lines adopted in other countries and recommended by law enforcement in several countries.

It's not a silly "let's fuck off to Mexico and get high" scenario, but targetting an existing problem from the top down.

Spunky 04-28-2006 09:45 PM

Mexican weed is bunk anyways...the blow is average and the best junk comes from Asia

Are you kidding???? The cops will make fortunes! Not from busts from general business that will boom when the foreigners come pouring in. A smart cop in Mexico will go into more recreational areas such as safe housing and hotels. Security = Wealth.

That's what people don't get. When you make it safe for people and their money and fair trade you get wealthy.

Mexico has two coast lines of probably the most gorgeous real estate. Fishing, hiking etc. If they made life safe and equitable there for foreigners and in particularly Americans it would be Mexico who would have the immigration problem. They could turn that country into the money maker of both continents if they could be honest and fair and clean.

They better do it fast before one of the other countries in Central America or even Cuba decides to do so.

It is apparent that you have not spent enough time in mexico to realize that this is something that they WILL NOT DO! they only live for the hear and now. they do not see the future. And that is one of the problems that Mexico as a country has.

It's simple, they add the 5 grams from their pocket to your 4 grams and bust you... then take the whole 10 grams as "evidence".

Better give 'em their bribes.

http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/americ....ap/index.html

Ha ha ha!!! President Vincente Fox just pussied up to U.S. pressure and didn't sign the bill into law. He sent it back to Mexico's Congress to re-tool it.

If the U.S. can butt beat down President Fox about this drug decriminalization shit and Fox goes ass end up like a $2 dollar whore, how come they can't make him put the hammer down on the immigrant problem?

Simple, Fox and his henchmen made this decriminalization shit up in order to get the U.S. to pony up more money to cover Mexico's greedy ass.

Fuckin' give up folks, we'll be the only civilization in the universe to die from chronic pimpin'.

Mexico is just ammending the law to stop snorters from the US rolling around high on their streets. From the glee shown on GFY alone it's pretty obvious this was gonna be abused.

No other country had this degree of idiocy from their neighbors when they decriminalized small amounts of narcotics. Somehow that says a lot about the numbers and mentality of bush smokers.

BTW... If ya happen to know any drugs related law enforcement folks in the US - a good few agree with concentrating on the top of the drug tree and dumping the "consumers" - they then stand some chance of utilizing their resources to more useful ends.

Dude, let's get real here. If the U.S. and world powers wanted drugs gone, drugs would BE gone. It's a bullshit commodities war. Supply and suppress is the name of the game. The most natural thing for people to do is run around nude. You don't see people doing that en masse do you? Y'know WHY? Because most people don't allow it. If you can make a mother fucker put his clothes on you can make him stop using dope. Even a junkie has enough sense not to run around butt nekkid.

Drug war is bullshit.

Totally agree the "drugs war" is bullshit, but no way are any "world powers" or the US gonna be the deciders.

It's like trying to ban porn - ah, but some are trying to do that anyways :pimp

Seriously... there are loads of other never-ending issues involved, - more than worth hitting on in a chatboard.
