TGP spammers are RETARDS haha..
 

I have several friends that own some pretty big TGP's
and as you know the biggest prob with a TGP is maintenance..
Checking galleries/checking for bullshit.

Out of every 100 galleries posted about 60 are OK (well..
posted with good intentions and some intelligence) 10
are faulty (bad link or other errors) en 30%
is simple spam cq people trying to fuck it up.

Since they all use custom TGP scripts they
asked me to think of some simple front end
that would eliminate the 30% down to 10%. Would save
them alot of time.

So we brainstormed for a while and figured
out some intelligent fuzzy logic strategies on how we could
filter out those spam/faulty submissions.

But hey.. i'm a lazy motherfucker and implemented a
couple simple rules to see what effect it would
have in percentages..

3 things:
- Check if the submitted URL contains more than 3 /'s.
- Check if no special characters like ^&*$#@ are used.
- Check if the description string doenst consist of
captitol chars only.

It's running live since 3 days now and these simple
rules bring down the spam element from 30 to 3% ;-)

I mean.. spammers are reading this board.. challenge
me.. do something about it.. because this is pathetic..

Why no more than 3 /'s?

If you don't allow more than 3 /'s than a URL like this would be rejected:

http://www.goodgallery.com/tgp/0001/gallery.htm

Because that URL has 5 /'s

But that could very well be a very good gallery from an honest gallery submitter

I've noticed spammers use the letter 'e' quite a bit in their submissions...Maybe it's time to ban all submissions with more than two 'e's?

I've noticed that spammers use the word 'sex' often, maybe all galleries with the word 'sex' should be banned?

It's not waterproof and the /// rule kicks out
valid posts as well (www.mysite.com/gal1.html)
but check your own gallery listing.. that's doesnt
happen that frequent.. and hey. this is
just a raw but very effective filter. shouldnt be
more than that and nothing less..
