I hate it when Talent Flakes!!
 

Before I start my rant.
I've been told that I should warn people in a form that I pretty much write my posts to let off steam.

(IE: I slap cyber personas instead of getting charged with a physical assault)

Ok,
Today I was all set to shoot and had yet another girl flake. This now makes me 2 for 2 in 2 days.

It pisses me OFF!
I run a gossip site here in the UK. And I soooo want to publish their names. But I know shit happens and when I was talent I flaked once or twice. Not to mention I don't really want to run future work for someone or alienate talent to the point they don't want to work for me.

I would just prefer to slap around idiots that really really really deserve it!

So I'm not going to publish the names....

We have had it happen to us. Recently even. We were in LA for three days, had studios booked, talent arranged, etc. We had this one retard who was all set to shoot. Paying his rate (which was not cheap), and an easy scene. We called him when we arrived in town...no reply. Called again, left phone numbers, etc to verify and make sure he was coming...no reply. The day of the shoot, we get an email from the guy that referred him stating that some shoot with Wicked pictures was canceled, and that he had to work for his agency. Hence, he was not going to show. Mind you it came from his friend and not the talent himself. We were fucking pissed! The guy could have given us the courtesy of a phone call to say he was going to flake. We ended up finding a different guy and pulled it off. The last thing anyone needs is having to worry about last minute no shows. Luckily in LA there are agencies that can get you last minute people. The moral is, if it is justified, then flame the shit out of them. Fuck them if they cannot be professional enough to follow through. They are not working for free. In my mind, the shoot with us was just as important as the shoot with Wicked. We were paying close to the same rate. In the US, alot of girls get into the porn business and drop off the face of the earth six months later. It's a normal occurrence. The good ones stick around, learn the business and try to make thier performances the best they can. If a girl will flake on you you for no reason, she will flake on others. In the long run it costs everyone money....Whew, I feel better too! :thumbsup

Alot of times we'll double book and hope one shows.

Its too bad there is no way you can get back at them for flaking. I.E Billing them with the costs.

If you're a no-show and don't even give a reason as to why you're not coming (having a friend call is not an acceptable excuse), then you should have to pay for everyone's time.

that's the biggest problem with producing our own content...

we had two girls flake in one weekend.

it's to be expected.

This sort of thing comes with the territory...especially the amateur side of things. It's part of the reason I don't mind paying established agents $100 per girl. My flake ratio is way down since then, and if the girl does flake (rare) the agent has someone else there to me.

I've lost count the number of models that have flaked over the years. But since we work mostly with amateur, first-time model wannabes - its to be expected.

Still a piss-off, no matter how accustomed you get to it. Sometimes people have no consideration for others - and don't realize the trouble they put ya' through when they don't show.

Oh I expect it. Thats the main reason I won't book un-known or new talent for anything that can even remotely be considered a major shoot.

Still it's a piss off...

Especially when consider that most of us have done this porn game enough times that we can pretty much smelly a flake before it happens. Then when one "sneaks under your flake radar" and doesn't show.... Well... you know...

Yep, know it all too well.

Generally both my wife and I go together when first meeting up with a new interested model. Then after the initial meeting, we compare notes and place bets on whether she'll tank or not. I've been wrong a few times, but overall I think my betting average is better than hers. :1orglaugh

Yea dealing with talent is a pain. I dont envy you guys at all.
