Legal question about "international marriage"
Okay, here's the deal. I'm married. To a redhead. That's great.
I'm an American, and if I got married a Canandian women (who happens to also be a stunning red head!) while we were in vacation next weekend in Mexico...... Would I be breaking US laws to be married to both an American AND a Canandian? Keep in mind I'm trying to talk her into this and she reads GFY so try to encourage her. |
Yes but they would never find out.
|
as a US citizen, you are always bound by US law... no matter where you are.
|
Gosh, I wish I was going to Mexico....
|
Two red heads? What a handful, but I have no doubt you can handle it. What a lucky Canadian redhead. I hope she jumps on this opportunity! You know opportunities only come by once and last so long. :winkwink:

Ummm... excuse me, but I believe ToolGuy is already married. Do I get any say in this? And I'm pretty sure she's not Canadian.
I know how hard this must be for you Rochard, knowing that the redheaded lust of your life is unavailable, but bringing this issue to the board is not going to change anything. I've told you this before... No means no. |
Screw Mexico....I've heard if you move to Utah you guys won't have a prob at all LOL

I think there's no such thing as a second marriage. Any succeeding marriage is considered null and void

true, most foreign countries will require an affidavit proving prior divorce, copy of divorce decree, etc. to get a marriage license---or if you are already married in usa, and falsify the info to obtain a marriage license in the foreign country, it is easily annulled, and it does put second "wife" at risk for fraud in her own country. and if this is a serious question, once you play around like this forget about bringing the foreign spouse into the USA on a K3 visa. |
