Webmasters, do you take it personally when...
Do you take it personally when a rep or someone handling your account doesn't remember you or your account when you haven't spoken to them in a while?
Do you consider it bad business? |
i don't take anything personally on the internet.
|
i dont give a fuck if they remember me or not, just as long as they do their fuckin job when asked (which now a days is a joke.)
|
There's some reps who I've known for 4+ years who still don't know my name. If they won't take the effort to at least remember my name, I'm certainly not going to make the effort to put more links.

Nope, I hardly talk to reps lol

j/k This is the kind of answer I was expecting, but I think you are a sensative cancer if I'm not mistaken? |
Jimmy, nice thread. Keep up the good work.

Some reps don't have access to the entire database of webmasters within a program. I hate that!! So it might not be their fault. In fact, when you come to them they might be behind the scenes scurrying around having to ask someone else what your stats are like, etc.
Something to take into consideration. If you haven't talked to the rep for a year and they've talked to 5000 people since then, I wouldn't take it personally if they don't remember. I often have to look into my icq logs to make sure I'm talking to who I think I'm talking to. I do believe they should make the effort to make you FEEL remembered though, even if it's sketchy. |
all i want is my $
|
I could describe to you davethetruths apartment, pics from shows, girlfriend, new car, camping trips.. But account number I'd have to ask, lol! :)
So many numbers come at me everyday, it gets jumbled up a bit. |
I make an extra effort. I often ask for pics and I use thier name as much as I can in day to day conversation so I dont forget.
I have over 6k afflaites and 800 people on icq something I admit I forget. On the same note when Im asking about my account I have any account code ready and I introduce myself first. Here''s an example. Make the effort to use his name as well. Hey Dave, This is Derek *Dwreck* Smout from WebcamCash Account number 1234567. Then I bring out a time that we met and what we discussed. It was great talking to you at the Forum by the pool about your new HD Sites. If the account rep doesnt remember at this point well maybe its time to send more traffic to get remembered. LOL I dislike when afflaites hit you up and go "yo you remember me?" What do you want me to say? Im sure I do but give me a hint. The sweetest sound in the world is saying the person's name. I make a point of it. |

Leo actually. And no, its just that if someone expects me to work with them, the least they can do is learn my name. Especially after 4+ years. Not a whole lot to expect if you ask me. I took the effort to know them, the least they can do is know my name. WG |

Very well said Derek - couldn't agree more. But like PR Tom said - I could describe some of my webmasters 3rd cousins twice removed and I'd still have to ask them to pull up their account number :1orglaugh |
