crodj 04-25-2006 04:28 PM

Pittbulls,

The term pitbull mean "Fighter"

Pitbull aren't the only breeds in the "Pitbull Family"

bulldogs stratfordshires, Mastifs,

All kinds of dogs.

I've owned a pitt. Sweetheart of a dog.

You should see his brother. He runs around with an axe hanging from his chops.

Scott McD 04-25-2006 04:30 PM

Cool dog.

It how people choose to bring them up that makes the dog either a nice family pet, or a danger to people...

Kard63 04-25-2006 04:30 PM

I don't like them but this is a very funny thread.

Pitbulls naturally like to pull, so without the collar its nearly impossible to walk him with him healing.

HAHAH. I think he was only a few months old then.

Those pics are freaking cute. yeah i said it... dagger and all.

tony286 04-25-2006 04:59 PM

My new one is part pit so I started reading up on them , amazing animals . They are dog aggressive by nature but not to people. Very intelligent and highly trainable, extremely lovable to humans and little kids. What gives them the bad rap is bad training breeding and people that dont know how to read dogs. If the dog is pulling it needs more training. Seen lots of well trained pits that dont pull when they walk on a leash. You want to conqueor that one it can lead to other problems.

CyberHustler 04-25-2006 05:06 PM

my pitbull was the most lovable family dog i ever seen. I guess its how you raise them.

co-sign, you are exactly correct. Mine doesn't pull. I have that leash on him when I walk him but only to control him in case another dog comes running up on us, without it I have no chance. He LOVES people and is totally safe, but with other dogs it's iffy as hell what's going to happen.

http://dig420.com/me/bustercar.jpg

He used to be cool with other dogs too until one ran up on him while my gf was walking him. They got in a fight and ever since I don't trust him around dogs. The cats beat the shit out of him nearly every day though lol

We are training ours daily. He loves to pull so we just use a short pop and release with the pincher and it is working wonders so far. :thumbsup

reynold 04-25-2006 07:30 PM

your dog is too cute to be a killer. I guess it only shows how "looks could kill"

combine that with treats which you give him often when he's walking well, and there's a little exercise you can do where you make a lot of sudden turns in a small area. Pretty soon he realizes that he has to keep his attention on you to anticipate the turns, it works good too. I had several trainers working with me and my dog, learned all kinds of good tricks.
