I'm not talking about "liberation" of countries like Iraq, rather a serious military conflict between two world powers or two rich developed countries...

To answer this question, we must look at history. There have been many wars every century since the USA was founded. Whatever the reason, I believe there will be many more wars before the 21st century is over.

Depends on a lot of things.. we have a lot of big changes that are going to make drastic changes world wide. We have a oil peak coming up soon.. Who knows how that will effect the worlds govts.

Sure the rich countries will be able to figure out how to live with out oil, but what about the poor countries? Lets not forget oil is used for much more than just gas.

Then we have the effects of global warming. If things play out the way scientists claim we will see water shortages and possibly food shortages.

If that kinda stuff plays out we could be in for a rough ride.

possibly but i think most developed countries realize there is more money in working with other countries.

Yes - I agree. The nect great war will start within a few years. It kinda has started, but it will launch when either United States bombs IRAN or more than likly Israel. Press Bush will probably defer this to Israel to save face. Because Israel will launch the first attack - the Mid-East countries will united like never before and respond to Israel. China will alline with Iran because of oil and thier deep hated of the US and a piece of rel estate China has been trying to get for years (Tiawan). The US has protrected Tiawan in the past from China - many, many times. North Korea, and possible South Korea will alline with Iran and China. USSR will more than likly join forces with Iran, China, Koreas, and other mid-east countries.

The shit is coming - it is not avoidable. The deepseaded hatred these counties have for the US is deeper than the hatrad they have for each other. Morover, these countries have to allign, many have Nukes but cannot deliver them. Only China and USSR can deliver from long range.

I watched a show recently that said the deaths by war have stayed fairly steady at about 1.25 million a year, as compared with several million a year before the atomic bomb. Many of us owe our very lives to the atomic bomb.

I do not think that we are going to have a global war in the next 10 years. However the rising power of China and EU will shift the world power balance - which will mean war for the oil...

The biggest threat is not religion or money, but lack of simple natural ressources. Food, water and healthy air. People will start killing for survival, and it will hit both rich and poor countries. Unfortunately some rich countries are not willing to do something about it now. It has already begun.
