Abonded Hotel in Detoit(PICS)
This is the eddystone Hotel in detroit, its one of the many hotels that are no longer used but have beautiful architectural design work. This one has lots of homeless people living in it. I'd love to get inside and get some pics though.

homeless people ruin abandoned buildings
fuckers :( |
I wonder how much it is to rent an office?
|
Pretty nice looking. Wonder why it went under.
|
That looks fantastic, it would be great to put a nightclub or stripclub in there.

that looks awesome
|
So why's it no longer in use?
|
I believe the house was place for a triple murder and now noone dares to live their anymore, except the homeless people because they are not actually human anyway.

Um no sorry buddy you are wrong |

They tried to sell it when business had gone down and noone bought it, I think it was eventually taken by the bank back in the early 80's and was never used again |
Nice architecture.
|
If you get the opp you should buy some units or the whole building. that is what I did in St Lous 3 years go. They have old textile plants that are vacant. I bought 3 lofts from some group of brothers with very little down. I just sold them a few months ago to another investor and made a bundle. So if you find anything like those pics near the city buy it if you can...
|
I dont get it
how can a building just become abaonded? Woudnt the owner or next of ken just sell off the land - if it has no value really why not sell it cheap as im sure they pay property tax? or if no living relatives woudnt the city take over?? i dunno - mind boggling |

The building I believe is still owned by the banks, and If they let it go its the city's now, where this hotel is there really isnt much but old houses and bums, its not the worst parts of Detroit but its not the best parts, a lot of detroit has been redone but that the downtown area, the smaller parts of town are stil lold and ragedy, ive been looking at a few sites with pics from detroit today that my buddies own and I am suprised at how many building have been torn down that had historic memories, ill try to post a few more pics, my next post will be the churches of detroit, the arcitectural design was beautiful before the depreession and then they stopped building buildings like they used to. |
South Beach was like that 18-20 years ago .... But the location was better :)
|
turn it into maccas :thumbsup
|
Looks like the 8th floor tenants had a sterno fire in their kitchen ...
|
Pete, just pretend to be homeless. Rub some dirt on yourself, bit of oil, rip the clothes and get your ass in there and take some pics!

nice old classic design...
|
it's a shame to see those buildings go to waste.
|
Looks interesting - if you gain access...be sure to get some rooftop shots.
Have you been to the BCT (Buffalo Central Terminal) yet? I shot it last summer during the Open Doors Niagara. Even managed to get access to all the closed and restricted areas (except for the tower). |

The $6.4 million project is expected to create 20 new jobs. The city is expected to designate the area a Neighborhood Enterprise Zone." |
