Converting WMV to AVI

Is there a nice simple piece of software that won't eat a ton of resources to convert or re-compile some WMV files to something better like an AVI

www.VideoCharge.com

Videocharge is great, but like some others said, I don't see why you would need to convert wmv to avi.

Long story short...

I've got some guy doing editing and he wants the files sent to him in AVI format.

xcitecash 04-25-2006 04:26 AM

Send him the tape with the footage and trust the guy.....

DO not edit with WMV files.

Edit raw AVI and compress to WMV not the other way round it will look shit

If you need help with editing hit me up i have a good reputation and happy to advise

Unless they are going to stay in the avi format you're better off using a program that can edit wmv otherwise you're performing an extra quality losing step that could easily be avoided.

Any software you recommend? I've been trying a number but haven't found quite what I want. I'd like to be able to add a text watermark and embed a link but so far the programs I've tried did one or the other but not both, or created a file twice the size of the source.:helpme

that's ridiculous.

you dont compress to wmv then re-edit and re-compress again.

you start from avi, then compress that to whatever you want. always edit the avi to ensure quality encoding.
