my bank fucked up..are they liable?

Anyway, my bank somehow "accidentally" closed my account. I wrote several checks and i had several of my bills set to automatically debit from the account. They were all returned so i'm literally drowning in all these late/nsf fees. And to top it off i had a warrant for my arrest since a check i wrote to the state was returned. Would my bank be responsible for these fees and etc that resulted since it was *their* fault that they fucked up?

My bank screwed up on me once, and I just brought them my statements showing all the fees resulting from their mistake and they paid them. Probably depends on the bank, though.

why the fuck would they want to arrest you? what did you do

They should honour any fees caused by this, at least they should if they have any interest in retaining your business. Wouldn't hurt to argue with them for a few extras too, especially for things like having a warrant issued because of their accident.

If the bank messed up they will fix it, just go down and talk to a manager.

Though I have never heard of a warrant being issued so quickly on a bad check, sent to the state or anyone for that matter.

Me neither.

And accidently closing accounts as well. You need to sign stuff. Ten times at least.

I have had a bank accidently close an account before. I also had a time where someone elses direct deposits were appearing in my account. Even had the bank once credit my account 8k for no damn reason. Which I did not say nothing about and just left it there for a year without touching it, then I closed out that account.

Yeah shit does happen. The warrant thing seems like it should have more of a back story.

I have written a check on a closed account to the court before (honest mistake, old check book was in my drawer with same name). I got fined 15.00
