The ones you haven't heard about aren't worth the trouble, you might get one hit a year off them.

They add your site to a free for all list and you get spammed to hell after.

Yep, like JFPdude says, most of that will be FFA traffic, and there's probably no shittier traffic on earth, they're all just visiting your site to harvest email addresses to spam you with pyramid schemes, MLMs and virii

Like JFPdude said above, it is mostly ffa links. I think these types of sites may be 'bad neighbors' for google. So not only will you get spammed all to hell, you may also get a pagerank penilty for being on them.
