Is uploading music videos illegal?
Here is the deal, my girlfriend wants to make a little homepage & she likes this singer called: 'Ayumi Hamasaki'
She has collected many music videos, pics and commercial clips with this 'Ayumi Hamasaki' (she is a singer/model in japan) I could register a domain and use my current host, but is there a chance to get in trouble over copyright if the site is 100% free? I wouldn't expect the site to get more then 300 hits per month so bandwidth doesn't matter. Or I just recommend she use a freehost like geocities or whatever? |
Even collecting/recording music videos is illegal, unless you've bought one that's officially on salw. So yes, uploading it is illegal, but I doubt you'd get into any trouble with it if its a non-commercial non-sexual fansite.

Ayumi Hamasaki has a beautiful voice!
Have you heard her christmas carolls with Gackt? :thumbsup Let me know when it's up! |
I like her voice as well.
Might be wise if I just recommend something like geocities or tripod. |
i'm also an ayumi fan. its kind of strange. i like ayumi, mai kuraki, and hikaru utada, whilst my girlfriend likes pink, savage garden and muse. lol. :)

Muse are fantastic ;D and Pink has a pretty awesome voice.. i listen to everything. hehehehe.
|
got to admit i like hikaru utada especially her song 'can u keep a secret'
the worst JPOP is morning musume |
alltho its illegal, who cares - its the internet - there are bigger fish to take down than some fansite. at worst you will get a cease and decist. a free host will probably not allow videos and if it does, all you need is 2 or three people to view it for you to get shutdown over bandwidth..
sighhhh.... [a1ka1ine] is listening to www.japanaradio.com |
My friend talked with Utada Hikaru on the phone (I was in the room) 2 years ago. She sang "First Love" on speaker phone. Pretty cool!
Gackt = out of the scene -- jrock went out with a bang in 2000. Ayu = Japan. She runs the country basically though she is 95% plastic. Morning Musume = Terribly ugly, bad songs, but if you ever go to a poster store in Japan, 50% of the store is Morning Musume. Kyoko Fukada = owns all. I'd kill for her. -eru |
