Who do you TRUST to host your Paysite?
 

So who do you trust and WHY? Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one..


ISPrime - Known Denis since they opened their doors (I know they're solid)
National Net - They host a lot of major players
Phatservers - I live close to their DC so uploading gigs of content will be easy.

Who else and why?

Because I own it.

E5 Hosting. They have their own equipment in Verio's Sterling, Virginia facility. Can't go wrong with Verio bandwidth, support is awesome, and pricing is good. That's where I have all of my stuff hosted. I do TGP's, MGP's and galleries.... so I guess I can't really answer your question since I don't run a paysite.

I'm going to be going with Phatservers for mine as they have treated me very well in the year+ I have been with them.

Reasoning: Great service at a great price. Have been EXTREMELY helpful to me in more ways than words can justify. Always reachable. Super fast tech support resolution times. Never plays the nickle and dime you to death game. Fair and very honest staff. Owners have been in this business a very long time and are here for the long haul. They never skimp on quality of bandwidth, the pipe, nor the hardware. I could go on and on.

A large number of sites use them and use them for a damn good reason. They are actually so good at what they do they have no real need to advertise, they do not buy sigs and if you see a sig it is just there as a thanks. Unlike many hosts they get more than enough clients via word of mouth after they have had deals go south with other providers.

Out of curiousity I wanted to test these three hosts Support #'s.

I just called Nat Net's tech line, answered in 1 Ring!
ISPrime, after getting the extension about 6 seconds for someone to answer.
Phatservers, First call went to a Fax machine
Second call rang 6 times then tried to forward to somewhere, then said unable to connect me.

Better to find out now than when you need it I guess.

LOL, Tony will be please to hear that - one of his pet peeves is the phone ringing more than a couple of times at the office. IIRC, if it didn't get answered in 2 rings at the old offices where they weren't all so spread out, T answered it himself :)

I've also heard stories from people I trust that their tech problems are fixed w/o minutes of hitting the "send" button on emails.

I know LBBV called me on a Sunday afternoon to work on a problem - which wasn't even theirs, it was my phone company. But he spent several hours with me and them on a Sunday afternoon and I not only am I not a whale, or a big fish, or even a fish - I'm a little egg and he did that :)
