Your Pick For The NBA's MVP?

If you could vote on the MVP in the NBA...who would it be?

My pick's LeBron James...With the final month finish he had and leading the team to 50 wins this season (only one of 6 teams this year).

Not to mention the numbers he put up this year...31.4 points per game, 7.0 rebounds, 6.6 assist. Only 4 others have put up similar numbers in a season. James being the youngest.

Also he became the youngest player to reach 4,000 career points, 5,000 career points, 6,000 career points this year...and the youngest player to win the Allstar MVP, leading the East back to win the game.

And how about his first ever playoff appearance yesterday 32-11-11, not bad for a kid who just turned 21 a few months ago.

I haven't really had time to watch much this season, but from what I have observed on GFY, Boneprone has to be a candidate.

Chances are he'll be overlooked this year :)

Steve Nash has had a better year than last year.

Repeat!

He should be happy with his one trophy. Not that he's not a great player, he's one of the tops in the league, but there are better.

Even last year, Shaq was more valuable to his team than Nash.

StickyGreen 04-23-2006 01:30 PM

uhhhhhhh...it's kobe hands down...hello...

Alex 04-23-2006 01:38 PM

You have to understand that MVP is not the best player in the league award.
Or who has broken the most records, or has the best stats.

Its who is the most Valuable.

And that goes to Kobe. Without him Lakers would not be in the playoffs.

ESPN has said Nash is the man again this year.

On today's telecast ABC is making similiar noises.

If Pheonix beats LA, I think it is a lock. They lose, it is a dead heat.

Pheonix has lost Staudamire this year. They are back in the 2 seed.

Every player on Pheonix is having a better year, this year, than last year.

That is an MVP point guard.

Get a grip. Kobe sucks balls. He his a ball hog and tries to do too much. I'm so over all you crazy people that get a boner for Kobe. He's an asshole. They re-built the whole team around him and they still suck. They are lucky to even get in the playoffs.

Lebron or Nash ... those two are the only ones that have a chance.

ANd my pick is Lebron. He has done more for his team than any other. Brought his team to their first playoff appearance since 1998. He makes everyone on his team better. He scores, passes, steals, rebounds, blocks and most imporantly controls a game. He won MVP of the All Star game for a reason. Nash is great .. don't get me wrong but Lebron is a few steps ahead of him this year.

Yeah, thanks...I know what it's about...Cleveland wouldn't be in the playoffs without LeBron either. And if LeBron took as many shots as Kobe he'd average the same amount of points per game.

Almost all of their players are natural scorers...and young. They should be getting better with or without Nash.

:thumbsup :thumbsup Thank god someone in this thread is thinking with their head.

Look at the Lakers and the Cavs. The Cavs are WAY better. 3rd best record in the East. 5th best record in the NBA. Lakers snuck into the Playoffs. Cavs dominated. Lebron has blown away Kobe this year and will continue to do so every single year. Your boy Kobe should go back to cheating on his wife with white trash chicks from Colorado. His days of Championship rings is over.

Lakers will be knocked out of the Playoffs in the first round.

BannerDept 04-23-2006 02:00 PM

efficiency ranking is a stat that should be looked at a lot more...

LeBron's the 2nd most efficient player in the NBA
Bryant's the 5th most
Nash's the 13th most

Garnett's number one...but his team blows, so he gets knocked off.

CreepyCarl 04-23-2006 02:51 PM

Nash for MVP!

Ramos 04-23-2006 03:00 PM

Lebron, take him away CLeveland no make playoffs...and he makes teammates better

twinks for life

The Demon 04-23-2006 03:16 PM

I would give it to Steve Nash again... Billups was my previous choice just because he was the best player on the best team but Nash has had a better season this year, and his team is doing better than when they had Amare, nobody thought they would do this good. The team would fall apart without Nash, any team would.

chaze 04-23-2006 03:18 PM

Steve Nash, then Koby

But Koby is still the best

pxxx 04-23-2006 03:23 PM

Definitely not Kobe, please!!! Any guy that can make a shot and is allowed to take as many shots as he does, can score 60 every night. I think he is getting TOO much credit for his high scoring games, and it bothers me even more when they try to compare or say he is better than Jordan at this point. I see Lebron and Jordan in the same category but not quite yet like Jordan. One thing both of them have in common is.... TEAM PLAYERS!

First his name is Kobe not Koby ... one would think you'd know how to spell his name if you think he's a MVP.

And what exactly is he the best at? He lost game 1 today and shot 33%. Please tell me what he's the best at.

Where have you been the last 6 years?

He has a bunch of second rate team mates and still made it to the play offs and can keep up still.

And no I'm not 12 with posters of my favorite sports star on the wall. So no I don't know how to spell all their names.

Just watch him play, it's unbelievable if you actually understand the game to see his skills.

I have played in college and street games for years and KOBEEE and Nash or insane.

The Captain 04-23-2006 03:39 PM

Lebron james, I think the MVP is someone that personally does good and who also helps out his team and thats james...

6 years .. shit lets just look at last year, they didn't even make the playoffs. This year they just got in. If you are referring to 5 years ago ... um all I need to say is Shaq, Horry and a real team.

I'm not saying he doesn't have skills. To be honest, I think he is one of the most skilled players around but not a team player. MVP's are team players.

And I know the game pretty damn well. I played in high school and college. I've been playing in Class A mens leagues for the past 4 years in my hood. And I to have no posters of players on my wall ... but I do know how to spell Lebron James :thumbsup

chaze 04-23-2006 03:46 PM

That's why I picked Nash, he's a better team player but Kobe is better at scoring, equal at defense.

We will see Wednesday, they will not hold Kobe back as much like this one.

And everyone else has a decent game lakers will take it.

Vitasoy 04-23-2006 03:56 PM

I have to give to to Steve Nash again

You can't compare them at all, because Jordan hadn't even played a NBA game at LeBron's current age...LeBron is way beyond where any other player ever was at his age...and we haven't even seen anything yet. Wait until he has a solid supporting cast. Cleveland's going to be one of the greatest sports dynasty's ever.

For all of you that pick Kobe or Nash...have you watched them all (James included) equally or are you just choosing them because you watch a certain player more than the others?

Kobe does nothing to make the team around him better, James does everything a player can to make his teammates better...and the same goes for Nash. But Nash is no where close to being as dominant as James.

Shaq when he has a good day here and there is the most dominant player in the NBA, but with his injuries and everything else at his age...James is easily the most dominant player night in and night out in the NBA.

I am hoping for a Pheonix Cleveland final.

Let the MVP be determined in a face to face.

Piss on the network ratings.

bdld 04-23-2006 05:48 PM

here's my top 5
#1 Kobe Bryant
#2 Steve Nash
#3 Dirk Nowitzki
#4 Elton Brand
#5 Lebron James

gecko 04-23-2006 05:50 PM

I hope Steve Nash wins it

SomeCreep 04-23-2006 06:17 PM

Kobe Bryant, because without him, the Lakers team wouldnt even be good enough to play in the NBA.

Who said James is staying in Cleveland? Everything I read says Orlando and Chicago is planning to make a HUGE push for him after next season and I?m sure there will be more teams lining up.
