I just bought a sweet sound system for my TV

A couple weeks ago I bought a new 60" Sony

http://a1der-babe.com/tv63.jpg

but something was missing, and that was the sound system.

Anyone that has been to my house can figure out that running wires wasn't going to be an easy task. As you can tell by the picture, I have a lot of brick and tile, and wire isn't too easy to get through that.

I went out today looking for a wireless setup, but the only options were with wires for the front, and wireless in the back. Still not ideal for my situation. Then my son suggested we stop by Ken Cranes, and I am glad we did.

I picked up a Yamaha YSP800B 82W Digital Sound Projector? Multichannel Speaker with a Velodyne Acoustics DLS-3500R Sub-Woofer. This thing is sweet.

What is cool about the Yamaha is that it has beams that use your walls and ceilings to bounce the sound off to give the surround sound effect.

I may never leave my house again.

I wouldn't say cancelled, but probably bumped back a month or 2. This year is pretty booked up, but I still want to go.

Yngwie 04-21-2006 09:52 PM

I'd like to add that tv to rig.

Stallion 04-21-2006 09:52 PM

that looks pretty sweet.. I will have to check it out. I have the wire problem myself

Yngwie 04-21-2006 09:55 PM

You should get a Denon AVR-5805. That's what want to get as an upgrade from my Denon AVR-3802

My son used to install surround sound systems professionally . . .high end deals, for high priced clients, and he said none of them compared to this one. He was pretty impressed with its quality.

I think it was JVC that used to have the commercial where the guy sat in front of his sound system with his shades and a scarf and the sound caused it to blow in the wind.

Picture me there. :1orglaugh

uno 04-22-2006 11:12 AM

For $3,500 it should come with a Fleshlight or a hooker.

Having the money, and spending it on a $3,500 DVD player are two different things.

:1orglaugh Not a difficult chore, that was like 12-15 years old.

baddog 04-22-2006 07:36 PM

Well, they just left from installing this thing. Pretty damn cool.

The final step includes setting up a microphone to the speakers and putting it towards the back of the room. They then put it on auto setup, and 5 beams go out and measure the distance from wall to wall and ceiling to floor.

You can hear it as it grabs and syncs everything up, real sci-fi.

Now, the only problem is that I have 5 different remotes required to watch TV. Hope I can memorize this stuff without too much trouble.

GoodChris 04-22-2006 08:05 PM

Nice Choice.

I've been running A Sony Screen, Yamaha Recevier and Boston Acoustics Speakes for years now. I haven't got anything but positive to say for all 3 of these manufacturers. Best Sound Clarity I've ever had.

Lol my fiance hates that I have 3-4 remotes for my home theater setup. She can't figure it out half of the time.

I think I am going to have to invest in one of these touch screen universal remotes my son has been telling me about.
