Model Recruiting Style:: What's yours?
 

I've been busy experimenting with a few styles of model recruiting. Previously I would just run ads, and field responses. Worked ok, but never really worked perfectly. My girlfriend told me I should "build a relationship" with the people I'm talking to, in order to shoot the models I want to shoot - instead of just working with the people desperate for cash.

So do you find "getting to know them" and building a relationship with people works better than just throwing ads up?

Wait is that like getting them to become your gf then when she is comfortable you spring the wanna pose nude bit on her?

Approaching the people I want to approach... perhaps this would be better called 'active recruiting' instead of the passive approach through newspapers and such.

If they have a good time working with you, they will recommend you to their friends and you will get more biz...

I usually just walk up to them with a kitten in my hands and tell them I'll snap its neck and turn it into slippers if they don't strip. That works, most of the time.

Ads work great for me, then models refer other models all the time, when the stream of 'word of mouth' models settles down i run the ad again :thumbsup
