our local office max is going out of business, tommorows last day but I went to see what was left. They had on of those uniden phones with a seperate wireless phone for 80% off the lowest price, so I picked it up for 20 bucks. got home and sighed up for the free month of packet8.net service, and talked for 2 hours to a buddy of mine on the other side of the country... clear as a bell. Actually sounded better than my old phone and a ton better than my cell. I'm sold. 20 bucks a month unlimited local and long distance, plus I ca plug my fax into it also... nice.:thumbsup :thumbsup

funny when you think about it... use to have a phone to get internet, now have internet to get phone...

yup...I have been using packet8 since my boss set up an account for me about two or three years ago. It lets me have an US number that rings here at my desk in London and I can call my parents and clients in the States without worrying about going bankrupt. I assure you that has improved my relationship with my family no end.

I just got vonage the other week to try out. So far it's not horrible. Only time I get annoyed is when I'm uploading or downloading a decent file, apparently my voice cuts out a lot during that process... The rest of the time it's fine.

OMG I can't get than damn tune they use out of my head, whoohu whohuhu... ARRG....

But the phone I got only works with this packet8, so limited there.. but happy with it as of yet.
