Did the CIA kill Bob Marley
One of my friends swore that the CIA killed Bob Marley in some big conspiracy theory. What do you think?
|
well tell us the theory...never heard this one...
|
Nope. A friend of mine used to be a huge fan of his. Bob Marley died from skin cancer, starting on a toe which he refused to have amputated because of his religious beliefs.
As far as I know, the CIA doesn't cause cancer. |

Seemed like kinda a stupid theory to me. |
I have some close friends that were part of his inner circle at the time. There was definitely more to it than just skin cancer. Much more to it than that.

I love Bob Marley
this song is more important now then ever before. Old pirates, yes, they rob I; Sold I to the merchant ships, Minutes after they took I From the bottomless pit. But my hand was made strong By the 'and of the Almighty. We forward in this generation Triumphantly. Won't you help to sing These songs of freedom? - 'Cause all I ever have: Redemption songs; Redemption songs. Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery; None but ourselves can free our minds. Have no fear for atomic energy, 'Cause none of them can stop the time. How long shall they kill our prophets, While we stand aside and look? Ooh! Some say it's just a part of it: We've got to fulfil de book. Won't you help to sing These songs of freedom? - 'Cause all I ever have: Redemption songs; Redemption songs; Redemption songs. --- [Guitar break] --- Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery; None but ourselves can free our mind. Wo! Have no fear for atomic energy, 'Cause none of them-a can-a stop-a the time. How long shall they kill our prophets, While we stand aside and look? Yes, some say it's just a part of it: We've got to fulfil de book. Won't you help to sing Dese songs of freedom? - 'Cause all I ever had: Redemption songs - All I ever had: Redemption songs: These songs of freedom, Songs of freedom. |
If the CIA killed Bob Marley, they did a good job.

He got cancer after an injury playing football whichh he refused to treat.
Apparently he was being treated by this crazy doctor who some say was a CIA agent.I dont have the link right now but I think I read this on the bobmarley.com site He refused to be treated by traditional western medicine since his rastafarian beliefs did not allow it. |
hmmmm... Interesting.
:smokin |
No the CIA didn't kill Bob Marley.....he died of some kind of cancer in his foot. I dont know if it was cancer but something happened to hit foot and it got infected and spread i think

In July 1966, Marley was found to have a wound on his right big toe, which he thought was from a football (soccer) injury. The wound would not completely heal, and his toenail later fell off during a football game. It was then that the correct diagnosis was made. Marley actually had a form of skin cancer, malignant melanoma, which grew under his toenail.
Marley was advised to get his toe amputated, but he refused because of his Rastafarian beliefs that the body must be whole, that to have an amputation would be a sin, that his faith would ensure him living forever regardless of the cancer and because he saw medical doctors as samfai, confidence men who cheat the gullible by pretending to have the power of witchcraft. He also was concerned about the impact the operation would have on his dancing; amputation would profoundly affect his career at a time when greater success was close at hand. Still, Marley based this refusal on his Rastafarian beliefs, saying, "Rasta no abide amputation. I don't allow a mon ta be dismantled." (Catch a Fire, Timothy White) He did have surgery to try to excise the cancer cells. The cancer was kept secret from the wider public until 1991. The cancer spread to his brain, his lungs and his stomach. During the Uprising Tour in the fall of 1980, Marley collapsed while jogging in NYC's Central Park. He had recently played two shows at Madison Square Garden. He was unable to continue with the tour. Bob Marley played his final concert in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on 23 September, 1980; the live version of "Redemption Song" on Songs of Freedom was recorded at this show.[1] Marley sought help, and decided to go to Munich in order to receive treatment from cancer specialist Josef Issels for several months, but the cancer had already progressed to the terminal stage. Marley wanted to spend his final days in Jamaica but he became too ill on the flight home from Germany and the plane was forced to land in Miami so that he could receive immediate medical attention. He died at Cedars of Lebanon Hospital in Miami, Florida on 11 May , 1981. His final words to his son Ziggy were, "Money can't buy life." Bob Marley received the honor of a State funeral in Jamaica. It was a dignified funeral with combined elements of Ethiopian Orthodoxy and Rastafari. He is buried in a crypt at Nine Miles, near his birthplace, with his Gibson guitar, a bud of marijuana and a Bible. A month before his death, he was awarded the Jamaican Order of Merit. |
The conspiracy theory says that the CIA wanted to kill him because of all his work towards african unity, black people, etc.
I`m a huge Marley fan but I`m `not so keen on conspiracy theories.I really dont know what to think of this one. I`m really looking forward to the tribute concert here with his son and all the musicians that accompanied him through his amazing life. One of the most influential artists of the past century IMHO |
This is an article similar to the one I read before:

In so far as the opportunity to have attacked Bob Marley with a potentially cancer-causing agent, there has been speculation that, during the time Marley was initially being treated for the foot injury which is believed to be the beginning of the cancer in his body, Bob was given some kind of an injection by a French doctor. Later Marley did travel to the Federal Republic of Germany to undergo radical naturopathic cancer treatments by one Bavarian Dr. Issels, who is revealed to have had former Nazi SS and intelligence connections. This area of research remains somewhat vague on Marley's life.
This secret research into cancer-causing agents partially overlapped with the CIA's projects MK-ULTRA (covert human experimentation with psychedelic drugs and "other chemical agents") and MK-NAOMI (the agency's managing of biological toxins and diseases, some of which, as revealed in congressional hearings, were utilized in attempted assassinations of foreign leaders). This becomes highly relevant when we consider that it is the CIA that is most suspected as having a clandestine influence in the lives and deaths of Bob Marley and Peter Tosh. http://72.14.203.104/search?q=cache:...t=clnk&cd= 18 |
In a feature - written by Richard Hatch entitled hahaha8220;Cancer Warfarehahaha8221; in a 1991 edition of a research Journal called hahaha8220;Covert Actionhahaha8221; - Hatch examined the history of research carried out by the American Government during the President Richard Nixon term of office, aimed at developing cancer-causing agents. Thousands of animals were infected in experiments using aerosol distribution of carcinogenic viruses.
Why would the American government want to develop cancer-causing weapons that could be simply sprayed from an aerosol can in areas such as a hotel room prior to an unsuspecting victim entering that room? |

The NWO doesn't want these people's voices to be heard... He was killed just like the others... like John Lennon... because they're promoting real freedom... not like Bush's one... |

hmm strange , i know a guy who was part of mk-ultra , actually an offshoot of mk-ultra , known as project bluebird and project artichoke in canada. |
Its certainly plausible that people in power would not want bob marley's message to be heard. Equality doesnt go down well with those in power
|
He also had some serious problems in Jamaica with thier government at the time.

|
never heard of this one before. Big fan too. Redemption Song rules!

Conspiracy theorists should be shot.
There's nothing worse than a bunch of twits running around chasing alf and jerking off to the x-files. They're worse than rabid neocons. If something isn't endorsed or reported by one of their lithium deprived heroes, it's part of the conspiracy. Logic isn?t one of their fortes. |
how do you murder someone with skin cancer?
