Email clients

For some reason I still use Outlook. I'm looking to ditch it, but don't know any others.

What email client do you use?

JFPdude 05-10-2002 06:25 AM

I use Eudora and have been happy with it for years.

Teamed up with Nortons Anti Virus I stay virus free. :thumbsup

FuqALot 05-10-2002 06:26 AM

http://www.eudora.com/ is nice.

DTK 05-10-2002 07:04 AM

I like eudora as well.

Jakke PNG 05-10-2002 07:04 AM

Everybody uses eudora.

lawpal 05-10-2002 07:07 AM

I have used outlook for years, and I have never had a problem.

Kat - Fast 05-10-2002 07:21 AM

Opera has it's own email client - just do it

Loch 05-10-2002 07:27 AM

Lotus Notes might be a way to go :winkwink:

XXXManager 05-10-2002 07:31 AM

I use Outlook and satisfied with it more or less - BUT it may be because I never used other clients.
I see Eudora fans here and wonder if they are not in the same situation as myself.
Can someone tell me why he thinks Eudora is better? (I have Norton AV integrated into OutLook so thats not a valid point)
Another thing is - I heard Eudora has incompatibilities with IMAP. I use Courier mail server and see alot of bugs regarding Eudora.
So if a Eudora user with Outlook past can clear things out...

Well I have used both outlook and eudora and here's my perspective ... even though it's my opinion and probably worth about :2 cents:

I used both Outlook and Eudora when the SirCam virus first came out. It took Nortons a few days to lock down a fix for that virus. During those few days Outlook was fooled into opening that virus automatically whereas the computer my Eudora was running on didn't open anything unless I opened it.

Many viruses are written for Outlook due to the fact it is the number 1 used email client .... Therefore I feel safer with Eudora.

:thumbsup

That's why I want to switch. :) Most viruses are written for Outlook.

I just tried Eudora and hated it.

Maybe I'll try again another time. When I'm trying to quit smoking may not be the best time to try and figure out new programs. :winkwink: I get too cranky too quickly.

I've used Pegasus since 1996 and love it. These days I use Email Remover to download headers and then delete everything in mass that appears suspicious.

www.pocomail.com if you need an industrial strength email client (which, of course is not susceptible to those viruses either).

NetRodent 05-10-2002 08:15 AM

I use Pegasus as well. Its got support for filtering, multiple identities, and probably other things I don't use. You can download a copy at http://www.pmail.com

Outlook (Full... not that shitty Express crap).... works perfect for me. Always has. :2 cents:

Over the years I've tried every Email client out there looking for something to replace Outlook but I never even heard of Poco.

Saw this, gave it a go and got my CC out within the day! It's awesome. Highly recommended:thumbsup
