You know as much as I hate paying it.. and I know I will kick myself for it when it happens. $5 gal gas will be the best thing that could happen to this country.

It will force the govt and auto companies to push alternative fuels. May suck for the short term, but in the long run we will all be better off.

However OIH is up 300% since the recent oil rush started - XLE is only up 2.66% - Hal is doing very well but OIH and XLE are baskets of oil stocks - you can shield yourself from any one stock failing badly if you don't have the nerve to select single stocks.

But Oil will be the key sector for some time to come!
