Speeding tickets are a bitch!!!
I got my first speeding ticket last week doing 85 in a 65 trying to catch my flight at the airport. Has anyone here ever got a ticket going more than 20 mph over the speed limit?

Just pay the fine, take your traffic school and do not do it again.

fight it. if it's your very first and there's no record of you being an asshat with your car priviously they'll let you off. but if you get another ticket/accident within x months both tickets go on your record :(

I've had two for 24 and one for 39 (which was also a construction zone). Plus a bunch more in the 10-20 range. Course they were all when I was younger and before I got my radar detector.

don't admit anything. Subpeona the radar tech. IF he doesn't show you move to dismiss for failure to appear. works most times.
Some places have a suspended ticket program you pay them, if you get no more tickets for a year you are home free. |
Yep. Was 18, and was caught doing double the speed limit (110 in a 55). Needless to say, lost license, big ass fine. However, petitioned the court and got it back. Was restricted though, and on probation for 2 years. Also had to carry a copy of my printed out driving record on me (in car) at all times. So if I was ever pulled over, I would have to show that to the officer along with license, and registration.

never pay fines, NEVER... get a lawyer and get him do all the work, i been through like 14+ tickets, so i know :Oh crap

My wife got a ticket a few months ago because of expired tags. The fine was $120.00 - I shited my pants. I was so pissed off at this little butfuck of a town she was passing through - I paid the fine in change, mostly pennies. I sent the box of change via FedEx. I overpaid the fine by $1.27 and wrote in a letter to the court to return my change. A few weeks later I received a check from the city for $1.22. I wrote anoth letter stating that they miscounted and request an audit of the person that collected the fine. yesterday, I received a second check for $0.05.
FUCK THEM - I could not get out of paying the fine, but I made them work for it. It cost the city about $10 to cut each check. Plus the time to count the fine, then audit and find the missing 5 cents. This fine cost them more in employee cost than they collected from me. BASTARDS |
getting pulled over is a drag
