Using promo codes

We are doing some print advertising and would like to use a promo code in the ad to track response. Anyone using a system like this?

I havent seen any adult sponsors doing this.. i know if you do poker ads, you can use party poker for it..

At the very least you'd want to set it up like www.domain.com/hot/ (and iframe the promo code there) on the main domain. Otherwise register some seperate domains for each campaign and advertise them and have each one redirect to the relevant refcode (though of course you'd loose some branding this way). But I think it would hurt you to have the URL as domain.com/?refid=2323 or something like this in your print campaign.

That is my backup plan..something like domain.com/ad.html I can add a tracking code from that page but I would rather just use the main url. Its hard enough driving traffic from prints ads.
