HOSTEL.... the movie (pics)

I just watched it and it was a BAD ASS movie! i really liked it. if your into horror films this one is a "must see". If you have a weak stomach, this movie is not for you. But if you are going to see it, get the Director's Cut so it shows all the gory shit. ANyone else seen this movie? what did you think??

Watched it last night myself, quite good!

Michaelious 04-19-2006 02:56 PM

Seen it a while ago. It's amazing!! Harsh as hell

Scott McD 04-19-2006 02:56 PM

Gonna check it out sometime this week hopefully...

SilentKnight 04-19-2006 02:56 PM

Also watched it here last night.

Contrary to opinions above - I thought it sucked. I'd been lookin' forward to seeing it since the release...but was rather disappointed (almost to the point of turnin' it off midway).

The premise was potentially interesting, but they killed the movie with too much gore, lame dialogue and very bland and uninteresting characters (who cared if anyone lived or died?).

Are we to believe the lead character/victim who had two fingers sliced off with a chainsaw and poked with a few holes from what looked like a garden tool - managed to do everything he did without bleeding out or going in to shock?!

Pleeeeeze....

Director Eli Roth needs more seasoning IMO.

BluewireAngie 04-19-2006 02:57 PM

Damn good!!!! I'm gonna watch it again!!!!!

Nasty JoJo 04-19-2006 02:57 PM

djroof 04-19-2006 03:05 PM

yeah I had seen that movie ;) great!!!

chadknowslaw 04-19-2006 03:06 PM

I've been to real autopsies, murder scenes, and watched the dead burnt body of a little girl being pulled from her smouldering home without any trouble. I don't think I have a weak stomach

BUT

I thought Hostel was fucked up shit--just too much gore.

madawgz 04-19-2006 03:07 PM

just have it on my comp Hostel.2005.WS.DVDRip.XViD-NFE, never watched it yet

but now im going to watch it since you said it was good :)

tony286 04-19-2006 03:07 PM

Bansheelinks 04-19-2006 03:14 PM

I just liked the chicks. They were very hot. Was disappointed in the movie. A better horror recently out was "The Hills Have Eyes."

well, everyone is different. some feel more pain than others. you cant say one would go into a shock unless that is you right that second.

quantum-x 04-19-2006 03:36 PM

It's ok. On the horror / violence scale, there are much better films, but it was still enjoyable :)

Shoehorn! 04-19-2006 06:49 PM

I hated that movie, and I love horror movies/gore movies. I just wasn't impressed with that one. :2 cents:

phasic 04-19-2006 06:50 PM

Disappointed.

xNetworx 04-19-2006 06:54 PM

It was just OK :2 cents:

reynold 04-19-2006 07:00 PM

I have not seen the movie but some of my friends are saying that SAW was better

Damian_Maxcash 04-19-2006 07:01 PM

Ive never seen the point in Horror films - I see that the point of watching a movie is that you come out feeling something, if you dont feel anything then it was a bad film.

but Id rather feel happy or moved in some way - not just scared shitless.

Not really a Tarantino film in the true sense of "Tarantino Films"....those usually require him directing it. He just helped out with the idea and stamped his name on it...

TomCruise 04-19-2006 07:08 PM

The only good part of that movie were the hotties and the blood.

nofx 04-19-2006 07:09 PM

I thought it was alright

Choppa 04-19-2006 07:11 PM

I thought it was quite good

makes me wanna visit eastern europe :1orglaugh

Exactly. From what I read, Tarantino was the one who came up with the concept for the movie after a buddy of his told him about a reallife website that offers 'fantasy getaways' for the sadistic crowd - where people could pay a large sum of money and basically torture and kill people for jollies.

Other than that, Tarantino's involvement in the movie was very minimal.

dynastoned 04-20-2006 07:26 AM

it wasn't an oscar winning film for acting or anything. but i damn sure liked it and i don't know why. :)

tyler. 04-20-2006 07:30 AM

that's one sick movie , but good overall

Funbrunette 04-20-2006 07:53 AM

I saw it at the premiere, it was ok but I think I was too hyped to see it, I thought SAW was much better! :2 cents:

Sexsitesurfer 04-20-2006 07:55 AM

It's doing wonders for the Slovakian tourist board.

I believe it has some Czech porn girls as extras too...

Will be seeing it soon!

Cabin Fever sucked and that was the same director, right?

LittleSassy 04-20-2006 08:03 AM

that movie was so gross....but good.

drjones 04-20-2006 08:18 AM

This came out about the same time as Wolf Creek... I liked Wolf Creek better. Not so much the gore as it is scary, but it was really well done

Wolf Creek is a great movie.... the way it just turns into your worst nightmare mid way through.... well worth a little trip down the video shop for :thumbsup

That Hostel wasn't too bad.... ending was a bit far fetched.... the whole concept of the thing I think was more frightening than how it was actually realised in celluloid.... still worth a spin

MandyBlake 04-20-2006 04:40 PM

Tony rented it today, so later tonight we'll be watching it and then I'll let ya know what we thought.
I usually hate scary movies, but I've been in the mood to watch them for quite a while now.
