fuck candid hosting and every-single-body that works there... the arrogant tech support to the dumbass billing muthafuckars.
i moved my servers from webair to candid last weekend cause i thought i was being raped hostingwise.
last monday a 5am, right around when i am about to go to fucking bed, i realized that candid hosting billing me overcharged my credit card by nearly $6000 dollars. yes you read it right six thousand dollars.
every single penny in my business checking has been unavailable since last monday because of an erronous mistake they claim was website billings fault.
my dedicated box was down most of last tuesday, and right now as i am typing.
are there any good hosting companies left out there...? between the visa/mastercard uncertainties and the unreliability of these fucken hosting companies i might just have a fucken heart attack buy age 30. damn...

I host with candid and with protgp... protgp had one big issue in past (i believe you can find it on this board as well as on the ars board where many tgper post); but when ever i send an e-mail to protgp i get a reply within 20 minutes... eg today, my ftp didn't work (i havent used protgp for a while as my dedicated ones are at candid, and i only have a virtual account at protgp) and i sent an e-mail.... the ftp-path had changed, a small thing, but i appreciated protgp replying to my mail within 20 mins...

anyone problems with protgp?

Yo FATPad, let me tell you more to the story. I got one candid's PIII specials for my content server. Now, tell me if a week's worth of lost productivity is only worth a month of hosting as compensation?
I spent endless hours on the phone with the freaking bank for them just to do something and help me out. as of this morning, my money is still nowhere near to be reinstated in my account. there only explaination "it's on Visa's network..!"
I shouldn't even have to ask for compensation for them to give it to me. So if they think that my troubles are only worth one free month of hosting, fuckem!

I'm using bluegravity and they are ok.
Their tech support during off hours isn't great. You call a pager but rarely get a reply right away. Their prices are way too high compared with other companies.

However, my site always loads lightning fast and the uptime is 99.9%.
Please share what happened that made you dislike them.

If quick loading and uptime is what you want in a host, I don't understand the problem.

Since everyone else is throwing in their 2 cents for their hosts I'am gonna through mine in also. I have several servers with Techie Media, and they are awesome. Sure every network big or small will have an occassional hic up, but hey it's the internet and shit happens. These guys are great, excellent techs, also email support, a ticket system, icq, and Yup a real phone. Their prices are great and they are some good people over there. I can't think of 1 bad thing to say about them, and hope I never can.

Before i got into adult sites. i got hosting with HostBD.com

Fucking terrible. My account was up for 3 hours before it had the first of many 8 hour + downtimes.

The only reason my account lasted a week was 'cause the fucker wouldn't hurry his ass up to cancel the thing. I never got my refund either.

About 150 hours of hosting, at least 70 of which were down time.

I bought cheap, and i definetley got what i paid for.
One of life's fucked up little lessons i guess!

and they bill 50th percentile instead of mosts 90 or 95th

the company that had lousy support & generally sucked was blue gravity communications not xxx web hosting I'm sorry for mixing them up

steer clear of dialtone internet, who recently was purchased by interland i do believe. i had extremely bad experiences with them.

I had some trouble with my host last week and had to move my shit overnight, Techie had me online and with ftp acceess THAT NIGHT.

Prohosters has had virtually no downtime with thier dedicated servers Tech support by far is the fastest and best I have seen.

Talk to the guys on this board that has dedicated servers with prohosters you'll get good responses I'm sure.

Look all hosts are human, and all servers are just machines. Shit eventually happens to everyone, and that's a fact. Whats important is if your host is there for you, and handles these problems (if and when they happen) in a professional and timely manner. Do you really think any host want's to go down, or have even have the tiniest problem??...I think not.

Now with that being said, I have to say I love the guys at Techie Media also. I have 2 dedicateds with them, and I can say they have taken excellent care of everything I've ever needed. Maybe they like me because I'am a women, but they sure do take care of me. Big Kiss to Jim and the gang over there :winkwink:

HOLY CHRIST!!! YOU ARE RIGHT ON THE MONEY! Except for the isprime part (I wouldn't know cause I have never been with isprime) But, you are right on the fucking nail about iicinternet.com. They are the WORST, and I do mean WORST hosting company out there. Tech support that gives you the run around, cogent bandwidth, server downtime that can go on for 10 hours at a time and server speed that makes your grandma look as fast as a monkey with a rocket up her ass.

Damn, I hate iicinternet.com. This is JUST my opinion, but I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND not hosting with them... even if they are really cheap, you'd be better off somewhere else.
