candidhosting.com

My server over at candidhosting.com is down. How about the rest of you who is hosted there?

I cannot even connect to candidhosting.com itself.

cosis 05-09-2002 02:44 PM

Yup mine is down to

Nubiles 05-09-2002 02:45 PM

Both my servers are down.

BTW
Their support is starting to take WAY too long to do things

Turboface 05-09-2002 02:45 PM

You're right - I can't connect to them either.

I don't use them, but I have been seriously looking at them - as well as Cologroup - but I have heard about both hosts having problems recently now.

:Oh crap

vidsweb 05-09-2002 02:45 PM

Yeah, I can't connect to their site either.

cosis 05-09-2002 02:46 PM

All ARS sites (ie: global intermedia) are down :(

I don't think I should have got out of bed today.

x3m 05-09-2002 02:52 PM

I was closing my eyes on their "support" as long as the uptime was good, but... :(

Eric 05-09-2002 02:53 PM

I wish I set up mirroring redundant servers. IS it possible to have a server that copiue everything that happens in another server location, and when your main server on Candid goes down for the 10th time the other one automatically takes over? I wouldn't think so caus eof all the DNS issues, but maybe?

Dammit, you would think by now Candid would have 3 redundent backup systems in different part of the country, seems like a router card or someting fries every week and we all go down for 15 min to an hour. :feels-hot

cosis 05-09-2002 03:10 PM

Back up finally !!!!!!!

funkmaster 05-09-2002 03:12 PM

... never seen that many crybabies in one thread ... what have you fucking galleryposters to loose ?? 0.5 signups per day, or what ???

Lensman 05-09-2002 03:12 PM

Many hosts have multiple connections that route past a backbone problem.

Yes, server mirroring is very possible. :)

I'd be happy to get stuff setup for people, I can offer good prices on Verio or other lines if you're interested. I have a great admin who can setup anything.

Email me matt @ nysus.com and tell me what you're looking for.

Cheers,
Matt

Can't an F5 (or other) 3DNS box for geographical load balancing do this? I bet you can find a controller on eBay for cheap ...

The problem with that is the initial pipe must be up in order for someone to be redirect - it wouldn't work for redundancy purposes, but that would work for speeding up load time for surfers in different locations.

Matt

no argument, just wondering - can you multi-home a 3dns box?

Pete 05-09-2002 05:39 PM

All my sites were down today as well as my server harddrive being full and my script unable to work at all...candids fault! I was talking to snot nose shawn and did nothing but fuck up the whole situation and cause my down time to be 4 hours instead of a few minutes...I'll be moving soon!!!
