SHIT: Baghdad teachers beheaded in front of students

... in a primary school ...

Quote:

Gunmen brutally kill teachers at 2 primary schools; 8 slain in other attacks

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Separate groups of gunmen entered two primary schools in Baghdad on Wednesday and beheaded two teachers in front of their students, the Ministry of State for National Security said.

"Two terrorist groups beheaded two teachers in front of their students in the Amna and Shaheed Hamdi primary schools in Shaab district in Baghdad," a ministry statement said.

A ministry official said he believed the attacks were aimed at "intimidating pupils and disrupting learning."

Good thing progress is being made and democracy is taking roots, otherwise imagine the shit that would go on ....

Damian_Maxcash 04-19-2006 08:04 AM

How can it be justified?

I really am ashamed of my species.

TheLegacy 04-19-2006 08:04 AM

[ A ministry official said he believed the attacks were aimed at "intimidating pupils and disrupting learning." ]

intimidate primary school kids? WTF? All you need to do is threaten to turn the TV off to do that - not behead their teachers - and what were the kids suppose to do once they got that message? rally and march upon the government?

Exactly...

This is just another example of why it is impossible to " spread western democracy " to such a region ... and why a dictator is practically mandatory to run the countries of that region ...

I don't think a dictator is needed, but no doubt spreading 'western' democracy there isn't going to catch on for another few hundred years. If you spread democracy to that region all you are going to end up with is Governments and countries like Iran (which has some sort of democracy). A country in which extreme religious figures control the true power of the country, and the leaders are hardcore Islamists. People think that if you give them a vote suddenly you'll end up with all these great moderate leaders like most Western nations have, free speech, a move away from religion and so on, it's just not going to happen anytime soon. So sure give them the vote, it's better than a dictator for a number of reasons, but don't expect any real changes. That said, no way I'm going to ask my countrymen to go die so some country in the Middle East can have the vote.

Kevsh 04-19-2006 08:21 AM

It's hard to teach democracry to people after carpet bombing them during so-called "raids to find insurgents" and standing on a battleship, waving flags, celebrating "mission accomplished" when you've just sent a country into the dark ages.

Seriously, anyone who believes this war was about spreading democracy is extremely ignorant. Any Washington think tank could've concluded it was an impossible wet dream long ago.

KURTZ
" I've seen horrors...horrors that you've seen. But you have no right to call
me a murderer. You have a right to kill me. You have a right to do that...But
you have no right to judge me. It's impossible for words to describe what is
necessary to those who do not know what horror means.
Horror. Horror has a face...And you must make a friend of horror. Horror and
moral terrorare your friends. If they are not then they are enemies to be feared.
They are truly enemies. I remember when I was with Special Forces...Seems
a thousand centuries ago...We went into a camp to innoculate the children.
We left the camp after we had innoculated the children for Polio, and this old
man came running after us and he was crying. He couldn't see. We went
back there and they had come and hacked off every innoculated arm. There
they were in a pile...A pile of little arms. And I remember...I...I...I cried...
I wept like some grandmother. I wanted to tear my teeth out. I didn't know what I
wanted to do. And I want to remember it. I never want to forget it. I never want
to forget. And then I realized...like I was shot...Like I was shot with a
diamond...a diamond bullet right through my forehead...And I thought:
My God...the genius of that. The genius. The will to do that. Perfect,
genuine, complete, crystalline, pure. And then I realized they were
stronger than we. Because they could stand that these were not
monsters...These were men...trained cadres...these men who fought with
their hearts, who had families, who had children, who were filled with
love...but they had the strength...the strength...to do that. If I had ten
divisions of those men our troubles here would be over very quickly. You
have to have men who are moral...and at the same time who are able to
utilize their primordal instincts to kill without feeling...without passion...
without judgement...without judgement. Because it's judgement that
defeats us. "

Get a fucking grip - they did this before we came along.

Im not some flag waving idiot - but I do agree that all of us have the right to life without living in this sort of fear.

I cried when I read that - I cry a lot when I see what we do to each other - we are worse than animals, but I feel so helpless.

King Adam 04-19-2006 08:34 AM

Its absolutly disgusting they way some minds work. To be honest, I don't think there is any solution for those countries. They are so primative. The only thing that can change that country is the people that live there. One day, enough of them will start to get it, and stand up and change they way the live.

terrible..

those areas are pretty hairy anyways though . when you see footage of iraqi's dancing around a bombed humvee with mutilated americans inside , theres usually primary kids dancing around with them..

doesnt mean they deserve it by any means , but im sure they are used to a little more horror than your average primary school child.. if it happened here you would prob have a class full of kids lapse into a coma from shock..

Simpletons,

Turkey is a Muslim country, a member of NATO, and a full Western democracy. So your simpleton view that Democracy wouldn't work with Muslims is negated.

Am I the only person that clicked the link on the story? Because when I read it, this is what I saw:

"Meanwhile, local police and neighbors of two Baghdad schools where gunmen had reportedly beheaded teachers in front of their students Wednesday said the slayings never happened, despite an official statement to the contrary.

News crews responded to a statement by the Ministry of Interior, saying that two teachers were hahaha8220;slaughteredhahaha8221; at Amna and Shaheed Hamdi primary schools in Shaab district in Baghdad.

There, neighbors and local police officials denied any such act occurred. There were also no signs of distressed children at the schools. It was not clear why the Ministry of State for National Security issued a statement claiming these acts occurred. "

You all got your panties in a bunch over nothing... but then again, this is GFY -- so don't let the truth get in the way of a good story! LOL

I posted the fucking link to the full story, moron...

Not my fault if , aside from MaskTVMaura, nobody reads and comprehend the story ...

These news, along with the myth fabricated by the USA on the bad FOREIGN terrorist Zakarwi, are just there to continue to justify the US invasion and occupation :

" oh, but if we leave, the country will be in chaos ... "

BTW, being anti-war makes way more sense than being "pro-war, mainly now that the truth his LEAKING out ...

Yup, and what I really like is how most peoples idea of history only encompasses 10 years. I think all the posters in this thread that made mention of democracy not taking hold in the Middle East should look at what happened when a triving democracy did exist. I know no one will want to look it up but in case you do you can start here.

Their seems to be two different stories here: one being released by a government ministry and the other from the police, friends, and students.

Just because you see the anti-war shit on cnn all day, and never actualy talk to people who served over there, doesnt make you an expert. I have spoke to alot of marines who served over there, and they all have great stories about the kids. The stories you hear on tv usualy have two sides. For example they will tell you a car full of civilians gets shot up by us troops. They dont tell you that it ignored 100 warning shots, and was speeding towards them. They dont tell you alot of shit because it doesnt fit their agenda. Sure alot of bad shit happens over there, but alot of great stuff happens to, you just wont hear about it on a tv station with a anti-war agenda.
