President Bush: "I hear the voices, but I'm the decider"

"I listen to all voices, but mine is the final decision," he said. "And Don Rumsfeld is doing a fine job. He's not only transforming the military, he's fighting a war on terror. He's helping us fight a war on terror. I have strong confidence in Don Rumsfeld.

"I hear the voices, and I read the front page, and I know the speculation. But I'm the decider, and I decide what is best. And what's best is for Don Rumsfeld to remain as the secretary of defense."

And this is the president you guys voted for.

CDSmith 04-18-2006 06:27 PM

He is the president. You will address him as El Presidente if he asks you to. You will at no time refer to him as "heir Bush". If he asks you to bend over for him you will not only bend over but happily grab your ankles as well.

That is all.

Thank goodness Bush can't serve more than 2 terms, else by 2020 we'd be communist China. :( But at least he's ridding us of all these terrorists. Once we get those last few, we may once again live in perfect harmony.

European values, they're universal values. And those values ? uhh ? being universal, ought to be applied everywhere." ?George W. Bush

"You took an oath to defend our flag and our freedom, and you kept that oath underseas and under fire." ?George W. Bush (was addressing troops which may add some light to wtf he was talking about)

"It's totally wiped out. ... It's devastating, it's got to be doubly devastating on the ground." ?George W. Bush (the subject was Katrina)

Got to agree with Ben :thumbsup

The thing that takes folks right were "terrorists" want them is exactly what happened - "terrorists under the bed", "we are looking after you and know best" (govts - most know shit and not just the US govt), and the ultimate "insult" of curtailing freedoms and using "terrorism" as an excuse.

In effect, despite after having spent billions (and forgetting the "war" since that had nothing to do with terrorism), in terms of security, folks are no better off and have succumbed to the intent of terrorists who have caused severe economic damage.

I may sound little... but ya never change anything because of terrorist attacks (apart from taking reasonable precautions). The US is in no way "safer" despite the ramblings of politicians. Don't think there ever has been anything which can be called a "success" in a terrorist war and there is never a "winner".

Just so everyone knows, the "then we can live in perfect harmony" thing was just sarcasm. I should have included a winking smilie or something...too late now.

PS... I'll add... There is no such thing as a "War on Terror" in the conventional sense, - and bottom line, results in a pile of casualties and cost.

Any "war on terror" needs to be specifically targetted at the individuals causing havoc and cut the cancer out.

Conventional forces have never "won" against "terrorism" - ever. (And that included some powerful armies).

Sadly the US is doing to complete opposite and appears to be not learning one thing - even from recent history (eg Russia in the Middle East).

Good deal, Webby.

We'll defeat terrorism, because if we can destroy all the terrorists there will never be any more...because terrorism is hereditary like that.

Yah, I was using his quote, out of context, in what most commonly refer to as a joke or jibe.
