Why Can't Women

Why can't women ever stop the gas pump at exactly the pound (or dollar) mark ?

Everytime i go to use one just after a woman has pulled away from it, it's always at something dumb like £5.02 or £20.06.

It's not that hard surely.

You then see them having to search for that extra few pence, which ends up holding whoever is behind them back.

Just something i've noticed after it happened to me again today, twice... :disgust

It takes finess to stop a nozzle at the exact amount I guess

madawgz 04-18-2006 04:34 PM

haha i know what you mean, its a skill that has to be mastered ;)

With gas prices as they are these days stopping on the dollar is harder than it used to be, a cent or two flashes by faster than you can blink.

Who cares? Just a thought.

That's cuz pumping gas is a guys job. I go to the full serve :)

Elle Sommers 04-18-2006 04:54 PM

I always just fill up. I don't worry about stopping on the dollar mark unless I'm using cash, and I haven't used cash in... years?

Did you know in NJ they only have full-service?! Craziest thing ever, a friend came to visit me and had NO CLUE how to pump gas because she'd always just had the service guy do it.

Cyndalie 04-18-2006 04:57 PM

You had to fill up your car twice today?

Same thing with Oregon.

Now my fiance is like a pro at hitting the amount every time. Hell she even can some how make the truck take 20.00 when the pump kicks off at 18.00

LOL my dad used to jiggle the car for a few seconds before re-pumping.. he said it "settled the bubbles" and helped him squeeze more in.

My grandpa, who is a cheap bastard, used to lift up the hose towards the end to see if any more gas would come out because he insisted he paid for the gas still left in the hose. :1orglaugh

reynold 04-18-2006 06:46 PM

some women sucks in handling the nozzle

Syl 04-18-2006 09:36 PM

Haha. I always seem to pass the even dollar amount so then I will try to make the cents the same as the dollar amount like $20.20. It totally irritates my husband.

Any bubbles in gas settle a few seconds after dispensing. Also the hoses have breakaway devices with check valves or the nozzle has to have pressure to dispense fuel so all you might get is a few drops :)

Hence why I believe the men in my family are slightly crazy!

I use my ATM card to buy gas. Doesn't matter what amount is on the pump.

$20.17

$42.31

$34.96

..it just doesn't matter. Ching-ching, there goes my bling.
