Movie edit question(s) what bitrates etc
I was thinking about
HQ 720*570 1500KBPS Medium 352*288 768KBPS LOW 320*240 368KBPS My INPUT is an AVI(HUGE HUGE ONE) My output is WMV(and MPEG1) I can select PAL sizes and NTSC. I don't see any real differences(only the size is a lil different) Is it okay to use NTSC and PAL as output? Or should I watchout for something? Also my program doesn;t allow 640*480 at 768KBPS. Any idea why? |

ok well go for wmv then, those suggestions are ok, doesnt matter if its ntsc or pal, its just the bitrate that differs then, anyone can play both on a pc

I concur. Encode them in DivX or Xvid if given the choice.
Even better if you run it through XL Cleaner first. But if you insist on the other, then it all comes down to the bitrate. The higher the bitrate, the better quality, and larger the file size. :pimp |

Just curious, do you run a paysite yourself? Many members are not so easy on extra installs etc to view certain content. So I want to offer them vids which they can watch instantly. Also from office computers, where they might not even have rights to install codecs... |
divx is the format 19y.old geeks would use

You are right, I get maybe a dozen every year who have an issue about a codec, but that's it. I post on my videos page they need to install it prior to being able to watch them. However, a lot of people already have it because other sites encode that way too. Maybe a handful a year ever e-mail me with issues, and they are not computer savy, or they are on a Mac. What I'm saying is.. few and far between. :2 cents: |

Interesting...When I manage(d) paysites and did the support, I got tons on complaints for the smallest issues already...Wasn't looking for even more support jobs:) |

Wow. I am suprised you have had that many. Out of all the sites, I only get about a dozen a year needing any kind of help on such things. Out of those, almost ALL are AOL users, and the last few are Mac or computer illiterate folk. They tell me as much in their e-mails. But I also give a head's up to people they need DivX, and go here to install it, etc. That way they know they need it, and where to find it. Which probably helps illiminate a lot of people who do not have it already. When I encoded in Xvid, that brought more issues than anything. So I stopped using it and went back to DivX. :pimp |
Okay thanks.
You think HQ 720*570 1500KBPS Medium 352*288 768KBPS LOW 320*240 368KBPS is good(when I go for WMV) |
