I'm just amazed at how xenophobic this place can be ... for all the successful, smart, decent people on this board and in this industry it's baffling why so many just love to pounce on anyone, relatively speaking, new to GFY.

If you'd been promoting them for the past few years, you'd be seeing the results and not bitching about ugly skins (other thread), bad domain (other thread) and their program (here). They convert among the best cam programs, period.

It's GFY, Kev. Don't sweat it much. Webmasters that actually own web sites will be getting in touch with us if they want to sell advertising spots on their sites. But most of them won't say a word about it on the boards...why would they want to create competition for themselves?:winkwink:

eh, most people think this industry could do with a lot less people. the boat was full 5 years ago.

I'd argue that some that were already "here" should get off the boat.

I guess some people don't realize that nobody *owns* an industry, esp. this one and the elitist, protectionist attitude is probably the same reason why "new kids" are taking a big slice of the pie. (btw, AWE is not new, just relatively new to GFY in terms of promoting here - this isn't about them specifically)

I can see the protectionist hostility is probably also a result of the fact that those that just sat back and watched the cash roll in "back in the day" now just bitch about everyone ... and watch their profits shift to newbies who are often smarter and more motivated :)

It almost sounds like the gripping about all those jobs getting outsourced to cheaper (and often more talented) countries ... if you can't keep up, better find another profession. But don't make yourself look like a miserable fool by bashing everyone you deem to be unworthy of being on the boat.
