Am I the only person in the world allergic to socks?

As soon as I put them on my ankle starts itching and then it spreads all up my leg, Ive tried loads since it started happening about a month and it seems to be any sock.

Its a pain, its ok going sockless sometimes, but often you have to wear them.

Another one to add to my list of bizarre ailments :upsidedow

You know it's funny cos I have the same problem. Yesterday I had 3 spots on my left leg, today one on each leg and now this evening I have about 5 with one on my foot.
First of all I thought it was my jeans or I had been bitten by something but maybe it is my socks...
Going for a shower to try and disinfect my leg..

Which material are the sock made with ? Try the organic cotton, they seems to do well with me. Make sure the sock isn't too tight too.

Ive tried all sorts of materials - but I think it could be because they are too tight.

I have feet that are just at the top end of the range for socks - I might shop around for some oversize ones.

I always push my socks down, I can't stand to have them up. But I live in SoCal and wear flip flops and shorts pretty much everyday, so it's not an everyday concern for me.

jimthefiend 04-18-2006 03:26 PM

Try washing them dude. lol

eZe 04-18-2006 03:26 PM

it might be from your laundry soap. try one without perfumes.

CherryLipsRosa 04-18-2006 03:28 PM

try 100% cotton

jollyperv 04-18-2006 03:32 PM

Fuck socks, I haven't worn them in like 12 years. I feel like it's summer all the time, even in winter!

It might not be your socks but the detergent you use to wash your socks in or if you bleach your socks.

majorbitch 04-18-2006 03:38 PM

It's probably the texture of the sock or what it's made out of.

fuzebox 04-18-2006 03:59 PM

I'm not allergic to them, but I can't stand wearing them. I go barefoot in sandals almost every day.

chshkt 04-18-2006 04:13 PM

Scott McD 04-18-2006 04:14 PM

Mr.Right - Banned For Life 04-18-2006 04:29 PM

Sometimes it happens to me, but not often.
