If its over 5$ my bank puts a 11 day hold on it. They clear a small amount right away and then another bigger amount in 3 days and the rest in 11 days

cuz they suck a big fat one. in those situations, i'll take the check to the issuers bank and pop it. no one holds my money for 14 days.

G-Rotica 04-18-2006 07:20 AM

My bank has never held funds on me.

JenniDahling 04-18-2006 08:29 AM

Are you a regular? Have a chat with your manager.

I've gone from paying $AUD35 per cheque with 5-6 weeks clearance (since USD is a foreign currency here) to $AUD15 for an unlimited number of cheques in the same deposit, converted and cleared on the spot - even if it's several thousand dollars. It took a year or two to get there but you can't really do much better than that.
