Seems like the whole kinghost is down?
or is it just me

Did you watch it for more than 2 mins before asking or give it some time in case normal maintenance is going on? :glugglug

err no I checked it on my 14.4 modem with aol icq msn yahoo and 14 browsers working. You think I maybe want to check it again?

Sounds like either they have a server down from whomever hosts them or they could be migrating to a new server. Track down their host and email them. lol

A freehost with downtime,, never heard of that before!

kinghost are hosted with cologroup, and the whole cologroup network seems to be down, and has been for quite some time now...

phatservers is also down. wtf.

"general purpose" freehosts are a thing of the past anyway. try registering with multiple freehosts which are tailored for specific TGPs, like

www.easythumbs.com: worldsex/absolute-series
www.thefree1.com: al4a/ampland
www.freegalleryhost.net: easypic

etc.

Cogent is having some major issues it seems. Phatservers, kinghost, cologroup, along with many others are all down..

Its not just cologroup. I have most of my sites with them, but one on another host and they are down as well.

I'm on cogent and up 'n' running :)

any word from the admins whats up ?

I'm on cogent as well and up and runing
and i did traceroute on my servers and all the traffic goes through cogent.... (in case you think it's routed via backup connection)

Hmm, turns out it may not be a Cogent issue.

Phatservers, cologroup and kinghost as well as quite a few others all have servers at the same facility, there's a major router there that went down..

isn't it also your own personal experiance that there are different levels for getting down? i may have less experiance than you but can attest that there is getting down, and there is GETTING DOWN!

Atleast 2 1/2 hours.

actually it´s on and off since yesterday night....I have noticed short outages since yesterday night and this morning too...
it was back for 3 hours and now is down for at least 3 hours

not that cogent doesn't have it's share of issues, but my sources tell me it is a border router at the facility. multi-homed hosts are down too which seems to rule out a one provider issue.

I have a domain hosted on cogentco that is working so cogent is not down

I didn't mean that the whole cogent is down
as I understand that one of cogent's router's is down
and those sites that are on BGP connection should be up in that facility. I'm not sure though

Heh is this where I take over for cologroup and start spamming who I work for and try to steal thier customers as they have done in the past to other hosts ? :thumbsup
