im looking at selling tangable products through mailorder....ie porn vids:thumbsup and was wondering how the law is here in the uk on hardcore material whats determind legal and whats not i know the law has changed resently can any other uk webmasters help?? also does anyone know of any good wholesale outlets that supply good quality films NSTC & PAL formats??

Oh c'mon 12... we need them here as well... prob no more than a normal business license that states the intent of the business just like every state requires here to open a storefront. :)

Sex shops are more like businesses that sell alcohol or have dancers have to conform to a different set of rules. :winkwink:

I own/have owed several businesses and I've never needed a "license" of any kind to run them. :)

NJ doesn't require business licenses!?!? Well actually they are on a city or county level but just about every city in the country requires them as per a state level law. More of a tax boost I think.

But sex shops, bars and especially girlie bars have heavy license fees. I danced for a long time and heard about that particular one alot. All of our storefront business friends cry about them as well. Guess they are ALL pretty hefty fees nowadays.

Maybe NJ doesn't have them since ya have to pay the 'familia' to stay in business. lol :winkwink:

Yep you need a license for a shop and unfortunately that's still the only way to sell the vids. Even with a seedy shop you still can't send mail-order. It sucks but is still so much better than a few years ago when you couldn't even legally show prolonged or closeup penetration on R18's let alone anal sex.

US laws are better in many respects but you also have too many extremes. At least the regs are morre uniform here even if a little fuzzy still. The ideal for me is the laws the rest of Europe seem to have regarding porn. We'll get there eventually I suppose....

No more than a few months ago legislation was passed to allow large Vegas style complexes to be built (obviously license permitting). Without tottering off to check the rules the basics are you can just stroll in and gamble, alchohol is now legal at the table and even limits on fruit machines have been lifted. It'll be interesting to see where the first one is built.

i ordered the barely legal series off of taboo a long time ago. obviously they are r18. :) there are a few other places selling them too... a search on google uk would find them.

You must have missed the links above. It still remains illegal to sell R18 out of anything other than a licensed sex shop including by mail order. They are trying to get around it with the statement above. It'll be interesting to see how long it lasts. Maybe the CPC and Police are finally being sensible enough to not waste public funds going after them.

If you can't sell legally from the UK, why not ship from some other EU country. Ship from Holland, they allow even animal crap.
