The best 2nd or 3rd world country to buy land, and build a house?

What are everyone's recommendations for the best country to buy land and/or buy a house out of the USA?
It needs to be a country with high speed internet available - not so much interested in a good cable tv system, as I can always get Satellite.

Looking for a country that has GOOD PAVED roads... i LOVE driving, and not being able to drive would really fuck with me.

It needs to be relatively safe, etc... 3rd world country isn't that big of a deal, depending on which country...

The house needs to be good sized 5000+ SQ FT, with space to build an addon shooting studio.

So far on my list I have

1) Nicaragua
2) Brazil

Make sure it's legal to shoot porn whereever you choose and they won't kill you for doing it (if that's what the studio's for) and make sure you have bribe money handy. :2 cents:

How is Argentina?

Panama's the best in the world right now.

...but you can't shoot porn here. Brazil's the place for that in this part of the world.

Oh come on, the roads here are great... You just need the right vehicle.

Well, I like Mexico but I wouldn't call it 3rd world. We have technology here that even the US doesn't have.

Safe? Sometimes I forget to lock my car. I let my 16 year old daughter go to clubs (as long as I know who, what, when and where).

Paved roads, yes, even traffic lights.

I love Mexico actually.

High speed? How about 2 mb dedicated at the house. And yes, I have cable. In English. ER, CSI, The "L" word, uncensored I might add, on mainstream TV.

Blockbuster, TGI Fridays, Sams Club, Sears. All of it. No Taco Bell or Jack in the Box :(

That part sucks ass :(

Did you have to Photoshop and enhance the road part of that image FB? :winkwink:

Cape Verde.

It's really going to take off soon. Trust me. Just upgraded their status to "Developing Country", 5 star hotels going up, and Casino planned for next year on its own island. Gobble up land there while you can on the islands of Sal and Boa Vista.

For Expats abroad the best site we found was http://www.escapeartist.com/

They go over almost all areas and list articles, pros, cons, real estate, basically a huge archive of info.
