anyone know who accessforlife.com is?
 

I just received an email telling me that my site has been approved and accepted into the AFL system; it goes on to thank me "for choosing AccessForLife as your web site billing solution".
The url that I supposedly submitted to them is http://etaest :) . The email came through cavecreek servers. Anyone know who these people are(not cavecreek)? I'd like to know how they got their hands on my name as I haven't been shopping for billing solutions.

i think thats freenetpass.com, or at least it looks just like them. maybe check with them.

Thanks I'll check that out. I usually could care less about spam but when it includes my real name, not some handle, and talks about being a "billing solution" I get worried someones been giving out more info then they should.

email back demanding payment for your 5000 new members - you'll find out quickly who they are ... what the hell they already have your email address.

supposedly it was a glitch in their sendmail that sent that out.

Its Free Net Pass... they accidentally sent out those emails, and would like to apologize for it.

Its their new AVS which will becoming out fairly shortly. =)

So... its not creative spam, just an honest, yet annoying mistake. =)

Heya everyone! Been a while since i have stopped by here :(

The email was from FNP, and it was a coding error that caused it to go out. We are implementing the email system to include a message to you when your sites are approved now, not just when they are declined. (The test was supposed to go out to one webmaster, not 1000)

The term AccessForLife is the name of the new avs coming out Monday, which we weren't going to release the name for until that day. Unfortunately, mistakes happen, and not only did an email go out to a bunch of webmasters when it wasn't supposed to, that email also included our new avs name! I just wrote it off as "one of those days".

Thanks for the explanation Dave; I thought I recognized the name in the whois. Like I said I usually could care less but the words "billing solutions" had visions of bank account info be shared amongst companies flying through my head. Good luck with your new program.
