People who spam from domains they don't own...
I just checked my mail and I got like 500 "Mail Could Not Be Delivered" messages bounced from some spam I didn't send.
This happens every few months. Some asshole sends out a spam and uses one of our domains in the return address. They put that the spam is from [email protected] or whatever. The link in the message has nothing to do with the fake return address, of course. It's a pain in the ass to deal with. First we get death threats from a bunch of AOL users who can't figure out it's forged, then the same morons go complain to whatever sponsors happen to be on the page that was used as the return address. Anyone else have this problem? I bet the Sex.com guys deal with it every day. Most high profile adult domains probably have this happen a lot. Is there anything you can do to track down and kick ass on the real spammers? It seems like it should be illegal. It's my domain after all. |
That happened to me on one of my domains....
I was getting around 1,000 bounced emails... I finally had Verio turn that email off... Counldn't believe it.... Got one morning to check my email and had like a 1,000..... Went on for two (2) weeks... then I had'm turn it off.... Tried filters, all kinds of shit.... they just kept coming... |
probably someone uses your form script from your domain!
Check your form scripts on servers, change names |
