camcorder recommendations?

I am making a one hour video that's similar to Supersize Me/Jackass style. What camcorder(s) would be recommended for such a thing?

Thanks in advance.

I am thinking of getting the Sony HDR-HC1 which is HDV, how much better is HD than HDV?

Also, when moving to HD will I have to get a new Macintosh computer? I have a mac g4 1.2ghz 768mb ram mini.

Would it be best to just go with say an XL1 then I would save on upgrading my computer and still have excellent quality?

I have a Sony DCR-DVD405 and it's excellent, which I recommend to you (from a reputable company):
Brand New Sony DCR-DVD405 for sale here
It has an excellent image quality, 2 MP for video and 3 MP for still images, 5.1 for the sound ...

However, if you want a Sony HDR-HC1, which is better but more expensive, here you have the link:
Sony HDR-HC1

One remark though: do NOT buy from any online store, many are scam artists, with low prices displayed based on "bait and switch" ...
Do a search first for an online store on
www.resellerratings.com
and read the reviews ... :2 cents:
