dumb bots are nailing a few of em hard core

Annoying eh the spam bots. But what you need to do is install an image verification plugin.

Just set it up so that the moderator has to approve all comments.

Right, you need to check that. That way only registered members can leave a comment...then go in and make it so no one can register. That way no registered members = no comments.

Just edit the wordpress template and delete everything that's related to making the comments...

Bots can still comment even if you do that.

set all comments to approve frist bro. then just delete the fuckers from the admin once a week or whenever you go in to approve your comments.

Another alternative: Use manual review.

Dont' they have the option to require the poster to input a random bit of text like Blogger?

I get around 50 spam comments per day.

Wordpress? Use subdreamer its way better trust me
